Thankful for Your Support
Added 2019-11-29 02:58:40 +0000 UTCHi everyone! I know it's kind of a cliche to make a post like this on the day that Americans are celebrating Thanksgiving, but I'm trying to teach myself not to turn down an opportunity to be thankful.
I mean this with all sincerity. I know the majority of my material here is meant to be sexy or humorous, but the meaningfulness of your support is certainly not lost on me.
I've gone through quite a lot in the past few months. My significant other has required surgery because of the ongoing degenerative nature of her medical condition. Then, shit kind of hit the fan with my job, and was basically pressured through the overall circumstance to change jobs. Because of the unique medical situation that my significant other has, this kind of transition is especially difficult for us. I'm very fortunate to be able to offer my significant other health insurance coverage through my employment. But a change in employer means that we had a significant gap in our coverage, during which we had to pay several hundred dollars out of pocket for treatments that she can't afford to stop. Not to mention the gap in my pay.
But you helped.
At some point or another, you felt that my work here is worth supporting monetarily. Even if you feel like your support only counts for a little, I certainly don't feel that way. You have helped lighten the burden for me and my significant other, and for that we are extremely grateful.
With that I'm hoping that goodwill, fortune, karma, or general goodness is returned to you in some form, and I will continue to do my best to make my work here worthy of your support. I have a lot of projects that I hope to share in the coming days, and I'm excited to share them with you.
