9/4 Status Update

Alright people, buckle in, because this status update is unfortunately about production issues. I've been hard at work at Naked Ambition and frankly, I haven't even made a dent. What's needed for .5 is frankly just too much, if I kept going at the pace I'm going it won't be out until something like late October.

The issue is that the art just takes too much time. Particularity all the animations. To give you an example, here's the animation I've been working on all week:

Not exactly done yet, and I've invested a week in it! For .4 I had a head start on a lot of the art left over from the pre-release production, but now that I don't have that boost, these are just taking forever.

So what's the solution? I think the release schedule needs to change from big content packs every other month to a more steady trickle. Instead of trying to bundle the Festival of Rivers, and random events, and a new trainer, and seven weeks of trainer events all into .5, the initial release should contain part of that content, and then creating a .5 "release cycle" where the rest is steadily added in over time. 

This means that the .5 release will contain the Festival of Rivers, a 7 week expansion in the timeline, and Enrique as a new trainer. With that change I will be able to put out new content this month, with the rest of the planned .5 content coming out in October most likely. 

But let's talk about something more positive. Production of the new side game is going pretty well, and I have more art to show you.

This game will have 5 main character the player can get with, and here's one of them. My time has mostly been spent on Naked Ambition this week, but thanks to your donations I can afford actual artists who aren't me for this one, which makes things go A LOT faster.
