As the inspiration for works like Fate/stay night and Saya no Uta, 2002's Kusarihime is the horror visual novel that led to everything changing -- so just how does this ambitious work about rot, memory, and humanity hold up over 20 years later?

Comments

I don't recall if you are still looking for stuff to add to the list but I thought Comic Party might be worth looking into. Fair warning: it's a long game depending on the version played. I recently saw a video by KaiserBeamz on the 2001 TV anime adaptation and it gives a positive look on the doujin scene of two decades ago. The English dub has its charms too with familiar VAs like Lisa Ortiz and Rachael Lillis.

oh fuck dl-site sponsorship???

It's-a me, Mario! In the year 2002 I saw a deer stand up on it's hindlegs and scream like a human. Mama Mia!!
