Mid-video Update -- Cosmic horror edition
Added 2024-04-26 18:14:52 +0000 UTCHiya all, and welcome to the first mid-video update coming from Brazil! I am officially moved out of my old apartment and staying overseas until September, and it has already been such a huge stress relief for me. As I've talked about in prior videos, the last place I was living... was not very good to me, so I'm glad to have my own place for a few months here, and then another in September when I arrive in the US again. Seriously, thank you so much to y'all for making this possible; without your support, I'd probably still be where I was just a week ago and much less happy. It feels good to be entering a new chapter of my life!
Anywho, because of that, production has been a little bit slow. I've been working far fewer hours each day as I get adjusted to living leisurely and getting everything I need for life for the next few months. As well as that, I've been trying not to crunch like I tend to, since I'm trying to value my comfort and well-being over getting work done like basically everyone has told me to. See? Self-improvement!
Because of this though, I'm going to be focusing on games that are shorter and/or less thematically dense for a while. Maybe if I get really ahead of schedule I'll do another big video, but as it stands I don't want to overwork and exhaust myself like I have before. I had hopes I could do something big while over here, but... I'm not planning on it anymore. I need to take better care of myself. But, speaking of covering things...
May: Yes, it's FINALLY time for Kusarihime. People have been asking for a long time, it's been high on my list of things to cover, and I'm excited to finally get to it. I've finished 100%'ing the game today and will start scriptwriting very soon.
June: Shiniyuku 2, probably. It's out or close to being out now, and I intend to buy a digital copy soon as the Kusarihime video is finished.
Further on: Atlach-Nacha, SeaBed, Totono, and Kizuato are all individual games I'm really considering covering soon. It's also been a while since I covered a silly little varied series, so maybe something on the Biman games? I'll vibe it out I suppose, but if you have any preference out of all those then feel free to leave a comment!
THE LIST: More suggestions, yay! Let me know what you'd like to see covered, and if it's something up my alley, I'll put it in! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WF_2ADCa5UY63yygiElEyGr35UPCf-jfGivuHAeaiqs/edit#gid=0
That's it for now! As per usual, if you have questions for the next Q&A, please leave them below or send them in a message and I'll get to as many as I can in the Patreon segment! But besides that, have a good day, and see y'all soon o/

Hey there! It’s nice to hear Brazil is treating you well. While it’s more of a horror game with some visual novel elements I think you might get some mileage out of covering little goody two shoes!

2024-06-09 06:01:51 +0000 UTCGhostpia Season One is a pretty good yuri visual novel on Steam. I won't get into the story for spoiler reasons, but it's definitely at least one of if not the most visually interesting visual novels I've experienced with a lovely soundtrack to go with it. It's also pretty short at around 6-7 hours long in my experience.

2024-05-03 00:21:32 +0000 UTCGood to know you're feeling better. Kizuato would be interesting to see how it compares to Shizuku - maybe even a brief mention of To Heart? Meanwhile what's some of your favorite music tracks from VNs/ADVs? My musical knowledge in that regard is limited to ye old 8 and 16 bit computers, but here's some that I like in particular: * "Underworld Restoration" from Makai Fukkatsu (魔界復活; by Soft Studio Wing; X1) * "Mirrors" from Mirrors (also by Soft Studio Wing; one of only two PC-8801MC games - and it has an English translation!) * The entire soundtrack of Onryou Senki (怨霊戦記; again also from Soft Studio Wing; PC-88 with Sound Board II, and boy does it like using the 2608's ADPCM) * "The Burning/Scorching Sun" from Gaudi ~Barcelona no Kaze~ (ガウディ ~バルセロナの風~; by Wolf Team; PC-88 with Sound Board II) * "Memorial Glide" from 38-man Kilo no Kokuu (38万キロの虚空; by System Sacom; PC-98/X68000 with Roland MT-32) * "神の聖都のテーマ" from Kami no Machi (神の聖都; by Studio Panther/Panther Software; PC-88 with Sound Board II) * "PILGRIMS" from Zeta (ゼータ; developed by Will, published by Tonkin House; PC-98)

2024-04-27 15:52:29 +0000 UTCQuestion would you ever consider looking at Mugen Renkan ~Chijoku ni Mamireshi Fushiki no Rinbu~by liquid? It is a lot different than liquid's usual nukige games and it is written by none other than Izumi Ban'ya!It also has some really interesting themes which i would like to hear your opinion on!

2024-04-27 09:16:09 +0000 UTCI'd recommend at least checking out Mamiya (a vn). I can't really explain it, though

2024-04-27 04:44:22 +0000 UTCi'm soooo excited for the corpse party video! in the future, would you consider covering more obscure-ish japanese titles that aren't visual novels? as for recommendations, would you consider doing a video on dramatical murder?

2024-04-26 20:50:14 +0000 UTCAs far as VN suggestions go, I’d like to see you talk about Yume Miru Kusuri. It was my first VN (probably not the best first) and wow was it a lot. The routes covered bullying, drug addiction, and using unsafe behaviors as a means to distract from depression. There’s definitely content warnings similar to previous videos though, so keep in mind.

2024-04-26 18:57:51 +0000 UTCQ: Are you planning on doing more content like the video on the 3DO or weird trans barcode-battling manga?

2024-04-26 18:31:12 +0000 UTCgreat to hear youre in a good place, figuratively and literally!! im glad youre taking some more time for yourself, you definitely deserve as much as you need! this is a bit on the longer side at around 20hrs, but since it just got an official english release i was wondering if you might be interested in covering akaya akashiya ayakashino? thanks for considering it!

2024-04-26 18:28:52 +0000 UTCGlad to hear you're already feeling the good vibes from the change & prioritizing yourself and your comfort as you work! I'm also suuuuuuper pumped to see Totono on your list for potential near future coverage! My BFF Lynsey and I were just talking the other day about the game and how curious/excited we were to see what you'd take away from it lol As for my question! What's your dream VN creator collab? Like, if you could put one director, one writer, one artist and one composer in a room, give them all the budget they need and just see what they crank out together, who would it be and why? also, not necessarily a question but!! my aforementioned bff's birthday is in may and since they also watch your videos, would it be okay to jumpscare them with a birthday shout out... i just think it would be very funny to come for their life like that lol
