Mid-Video update - AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA edition

We are now really close to breaking $2,000 a month pre-tax, and it continues to blow me away just how much support all of you show for these videos. I still cannot express how thankful I am for it all, seriously <3
For this update... yeah good god I'm late, sorry about that. I'm currently trying to juggle the new video, planning a cross-country move, doing music work, AND planning another trip overseas, this time from April to September. I am very worn and very busy yet still trucking along but suffice to say my head is stretched thin. Please bare with me as I do as much as I can to get stuff out on time.
On that note, let's go over the things which are happening!
March: WHITE ALBUM NO KISETSU DA. WA2 video is in production! The script will likely be uploaded tomorrow, and editing for the non-spoiler segment has already started. I just need to make sure the spoiler segment is properly edited and in good enough shape to be posted up for everyone. It is also my longest video by far, clocking in at nearly 2.5 hours... ah god it's a lot to edit.
April: We're getting back to Black Cyc in style with Extravaganza! Not too much else to say here right now, I'm just hyped to finally be getting to the game after all this time.
May: Uncertain! I'm currently trying to work out sponsor details to figure out what can happen this month.
June: Potentially a sponsored video. If not, maybe I'll finally do a video on a novel with Disco Wednesdayyy.
THE LIST: IT CONTINUES TO HUNGER. I think it's a bit out of date with y'alls suggestions, but I'll try to update it tomorrow. my question for the next video: what are your thoughts on machine translations for visual novels? do you view them as a valuable resource in a medium that is largely starved for english, even fan translated, releases? or do you see them as problematic because they are often wrong in their translations and could give an inaccurate representation of the game's story. (btw, not sure if this question has been asked before. if so just ignore this.) keep up the quality work.

2024-03-01 02:11:58 +0000 UTCStill new here and very early in learning Japanese (so I can't really suggest anything not translated aside from just art), but your videos on eroguro with a surprising amount of nuanced queer themes has got me curious just how much is out there. (Have actually discussed Dasaku with my father and my therapist due to a lot of the themes and ideas) Excited to learn about Extravaganza when that comes out! Honestly right now all I can say is keep up the good work and I can't wait to see more from ya! Also will say I was pleasantly surprised to hear mentions of Touhou, but then again once you mentioned the PC-98 that kinda just made things make sense. A potentially silly question but do you remember having any gender envy from various Touhou characters? (Asking because I realized Ran Yakumo was the "do I wanna be with her or be her" and eventually "why not both" bkdkbd)

Specifically the Phantom Integration rerelease, since it's considered to be the definitive way to experience the game as it was meant. I just think it would be interesting to get your opinion on this one, since while the game isn't exactly super obscure (being the first thing Urobuchi wrote and getting a sorta english release and two anime adaptations), most of the coverage it gets in the english speaking sphere is either based on the 2009 anime or the dreadfull Hirameki localisation using the truncated DVD video release. Plus it's just a really neat title with a pretty long legacy.

2024-02-28 12:16:51 +0000 UTCI got really interested in your channel because of your videos on obscure art like the then-untranslated 16-Bit Sensation and "The Wild Barcode Battling Trans Rights Mecha Shonen & Its Doujin Sequels" and I've greatly appreciated those kinds of videos, including your 3DO one. It's not exactly visual novels, but I'd love to put in a request for more videos like that. If that fails... I don't know, I am curious to see a proper deep dive on EVE: Burst Error and I want to know more about X-Girl. Videos on the history of VNs as a medium/art form are also neat.

2024-02-28 07:57:25 +0000 UTCfor suggestions, i recently discovered a new release called nie no hakoniwa, which is a horror eroguro political drama i've heard described as "umineko but with eroguro" and it's produced by the creator of nekopara of all things (she didn't do any of the art or writing, but according to vndb she is credited with production, art direction, and graphics) and the studio that produced it is brand new. i've heard of some issues with its english translation, but it otherwise seems like an interesting title
