My Delivery System Chapter 15: Tired Demon
Added 2023-10-12 15:36:55 +0000 UTC[ Delivery Danger Level : D- ]
[ We recieved an order, do you want to deliver this order? ]
"Absolutely!" It wasn't even a question, he would be crazy, if he won't accept this order, there's no way he'd say no.
Unless the danger level is B+ or above, C is probably his limit for now, but until then he would have to be careful.
After he agreed, a small cardboard box fell right into his hands, unlike his first delivery where he doesn't know what's inside the box, however now it wasn't the case as it doesn't take a genius to know what's inside this mini cardboard box.
It's a book, and probably has 300+ pages at least, this one is light compared to the last delivery box.
Which was a good thing, because if there's ever a situation that he needed to run, the package he was holding won't hold him back as it's light.
The package weight nothing more than 1-2kg, so it wasn't that much.
Hiru then put the package inside the scooter toolbox, since it's could fit unlike the previous package.
Cracks of reality started to appear in front of him, and this was his cue, still though no matter how many times this will happen in the future he had to admit it was such a cool entrance and that won't change.
Riding his scooter, he went directly inside the teleportation.
—
Like before, he was in the space riding his scooter, however unlike the first time, he was able to enjoy the scenery outside the gateway, he was quite nervous the first time he went inside the gateway and now that nervousness disappeared allowing him to watch countless of galaxies outside.
He couldn't help but admire what he saw, it was honestly beautiful beyond belief, those pictures that NASA took with their camera is nothing compared to seeing it with his own eyes.
The visual effect is just in another level entirely.
But unfortunately this view was bound to end, as he was nearing his destination, the universe where he will delivery this package.
Just like before the end of the tunnel is pure white, honestly this kind of reminds him of Genshi's opening.
Hiru closed his eyes for a bit, before arriving at his destination, and before he could open his eyes, he noticed something immediately.
The temperature of this place was too warm to be normal, it's like he's in some sort of deserted location, only more hotter.
And as soon as he opened his eyes, he saw the world red, he looked around and saw that there's hardly anything around aside from magma rocks, a river of lava and a dead trees.
Hiru suddenly blurted out. "I'm in hell aren't I?"
It wasn't a question, but a statement, honestly it was a bit surprising that he didn't immediately burn alive, he thought that the system protected him for this intense heat.
And he was right, but not in the way he thought, even without protection from the system, he would be able to survive here, for at least a duration of time, his real enemy was dehydration.
But thanks to the system, he doesn't need to worry about that, and his only problem is enduring the heat in this place.
Once again, he was dropped in a location where his customer wasn't at range, but beggars can't be chooser, at least he got a map and a marker as to where the customer location is.
He can't describe how convenient this thing is, if it wasn't for this. He would surely take days perhaps weeks to finish a single delivery.
Looking at the map, he noticed that there's a difference when he started his first delivery, it now has names on the map.
"The First Circle Of Hell : Limbo…?" Hiru blinked as he read those words out loud.
Looking at the map in the screen, the marker shows that his customer was in the 'Second Circle Of Hell : Lust'
For some reason, he had a feeling that he might be familiar with this customer, but he wasn't sure until he met a person or perhaps a devil.
So for now, it's just a hunch.
Even riding his scooter at a high-speed didn't help lessen the heat, in fact it was even hotter than before.
Which was understable as there's no fresh air in this world, which means the wind, if there's even a freakin wind in this place, would also be hot.
After a half hour of ride, he hasn't seen anyone in the first circle, as this place is too devoid of anything aside from the magma rocks and dead trees that were shaped weirdly.
Hiru was starting to feel worried, because at this rate his scooter might now make it, due to the fact that its engine, which was already hot from working, would snap because of the sheer heat that this place radiated.
And finally after endlessly looking at Red rocks and dead trees, he found a building, the only building that in the area and behind it is a gate, and to call it massive was an understatement.
It was titanic, its sheer size reminds him of a huge mountain.
Driving toward the sole building of this area or perhaps, the sole building in this circle, despite its obvious strangeness and possible threat.
He couldn't care less at the moment, as that building is fresh air compared to the same scenery.
As he got closer to the sole building of this very circle, he noticed that there's someone in there, perhaps waiting for him.
Now that he's only a few meters away, he finally saw the appearance of this person.
The most noticeable part of this person, is that they are built like a human, which was a good thing in many ways, at least it wasn't a lovecraftian kind of creature cause that would be creepy.
And this person is a female, and she has horns, small black horns, wearing a fancy office suit with the color red and black, not to mention she also has those signature glasses that most office ladies have.
Most of all, this woman, a demon no doubt, looked tired as hell, like literally and figuratively, like she's the incarnation of tiredness itself.
And those eye bags, it makes him wonder how many days she hasn't slept.
Taking off the scooter, and getting closer to the tired demon, he wasn't sure why but he felt like he needed to ask this question. "When was the last time you rested..?"
Despite the strangeness of the situation, the tired devil still answered his question. "I don't know…decades..?"
Hearing that he couldn't help but wince, he wasn't even sure if he could take 2 days without sleep, and this tired demon casually mentioned that she hadn't rested for decades.
No human could take that, this person is definitely not a human being.
Looking at this tired devil, he couldn't help but find her familiar, but right now it wasn't his priority and asked out of concern. "Do you want me to make you a cup of coffee or something….?"
Her tired eyes widened slightly so that it wasn't noticeable for most people, but he did and replied. "Yes, please…I could really use some coffee…"
"Well…I'd like to work on that but…I don't really have the necessary ingredients or things to make you a coffee.." It was the truth, as much as he wanted to help, he can't because he's lacking things.
Also he didn't even bother asking how a devil from hell knows about coffee, but that's something he'll figure out later.
"Oh…" He could tell that she was disappointed, but regardless there's nothing she could do.
"Sorry about that…" Right now he kind of feels bad for raising her expectations.
"No, don't worry about it…either way, why is a living human here in hell..? I don't think it's possible for mortals to be here without dying." The tired demon said.
Hiru wasn't sure what to answer, but after a few moments of thinking, he decided to say. "Normally, yes but I'm here because of a delivery job and someone ordered something from the company I'm working with and I'm here to deliver it."
The tired demon adjusted her glasses and replied. "That doesn't explain anything…but still what kind of company makes delivery service in hell..?"
"A weird one." Hiru answered without hesitation.
"I have to agree with that." The tired demon smiled a bit at that comment, despite having a lot of unanswered questions, she decided to let it go since she was too tired to care.
Then suddenly she said. "Although I have questions regarding your origin and this 'company' you speak of, I won't because I'm too tired to think about it. Either way I'm Pandemonica a member of Hell Customer Service, so how may I help you?"
Hearing her name and her job description, suddenly everything clicked and realized who this demon was and where he was exactly.
'Ah…I'm in Helltaker aren't I?'
—
A/N: It's kind of obvious xD, but yeah he's in Helltaker!
