And we're back! Sadly, no extra house showing this weekend. I'm guessing everybody wanted to relax and enjoy their 3-day memorial day weekend instead of go house shopping. Still got the house clean and ready though, so hopefully we'll get another one sometime this week! Or an offer! An offer would be great!

Leslie and I have still been playing more Final Fantasy XI in our downtime, and man... It's wild coming from FFXIV to this. Or any other MMO to this, really. We've now got a couple classes to lvl. 50, but the game actually locks you out of leveling up further unless you do certain quests. Do the quest, and you can then level up to 55. But then you're locked again until you do another quest. This happens every 5 levels all the way up until 99. And they're fairly involved quests, too. The lvl. 55 quest had Leslie and I sneaking through various dungeons scouring invisible floor spots for items. Luckily, I was a red mage and I happened to find spell scrolls that both make you invisible and silences your footsteps, but you also can't interact with objects when you're invisible. So you have to remove the invisible effect, fight whatever enemies are around (which are higher than you, and you can't grind past them because you're level-locked), find the invisible item on the floor, and then recast your own invisible spells. Repeat this 3 times in 3 different dungeons.

That's just how FFXI does it, baby. And yet, despite the frustration, there is a weird rewarding sense of adventure to it. The whole game is a weird massive puzzle box to solve where everything is obtuse and hidden, but the answers are there... even if you have to consult a guide at almost all times.
