There are certainly a lot of nods to Goodfellas in the Sopranos. Both have restaurants that get burned down, having to dig up a dead body, and Christopher shoots that pastry guy in the foot.

2022-06-16 01:16:34 +0000 UTCIn reality Tommy was even more psychotic, and also a lot bigger, 6' 4". Henry Hill got into even more trouble later, but even though he became a regular interviewee on documentaries about the Mob and even Howard Stern, he ended up dying of natural causes (and a hard life). His story is actually a little more interesting than you'd even get from this bad ass movie. He tried several times to escape the life, he even joined the Army at one point but just ended up bringing his bad habits with him, started loan sharking and running gambling in the barracks. He said that early on he realized he wasn't a cold-blooded killer like Tommy or Jimmy, it just wasn't him, but in the end he didn't know any other way to live but as a wiseguy.
