Also, I think the most powerful piece of symbolism, and one that continues to hold true. is the two poor families fighting each other over scraps instead of teaming up to fleece the rich family together.

2021-11-09 21:06:31 +0000 UTCThis film is insanely deep, metaphorically (HEY YOO!) and has such depth of plot and character. You catch something new every re-watch. I just noticed the Rich Dad saying something about the only bad thing about the old housekeeper is that she eats enough for two. That's probably obvious to a lot of people but I just noticed during the reaction vid. And as soon as the old housekeeper rings the doorbell, interrupting their living room party, the Poor Son says "this isn't in the plan," Obviously the Poor Dad has a whole thing about making and not making plans, which is also called back at the very, very end, but this initial break in the plan breaks the whole thing down. And it starts with the Poor Son essentially 'lampshading' it to the audience. GENIUS.
