Although not my original intention, I couldnt get the background to work for this one but I thought the character looked great by itself, so why not just ditch the background and try a different look?
There are some pros and cons to this here. The things I really like are how having no background really puts emphasis on the form and shading of the character. I love the way her skin looks here, its just so soft and pretty much what I wish every character I draw would look like (and once again, highly recommend zooming in on breasts and such). Then there are also no distractions anywhere so you can focus completely on her.
The downside is not having a background removes the mood/atmosphere that my drawings usually have. That sense of the character being in a physical place, and that intimate feel of you being right there next to them. So Im very curious how people will react to this one.
I also played with the expression here again, and while Id have preferred a simple smile myself or something along those lines, this actually matches the character well since she is a bit of an exhibitionist. Plus I used it for practice/experience so why not?
Overall this isnt something Ill do often but if I run into this situation again of not knowing what to do for a background and such, I might try it again. I do like that these look more "artsy" when done well, Im just not very good at it, lol.

Yeah like someone mentioned in another site, it could be one of those photoshoots where they use a white background, then they can use the model for magazine cover or something XXX Triple Triad huh? Now that would be worth collecting

Yes, that feel less "intimate" or with a mood than your usual background scene, but yet it's a nice change too. Like you said, could be a good thing for you, when you have no idea or struggle with a background set for some characters. You know what, that picture make me think it could be some sort of lewd poker cards to gather in Eorzea ! ;P And ofc, the character itself is gorgeous as hell ! Mizuki is soooo adorable and sexy, oh my ! <3 The smooth look of her skin is absolutely delicious x.x

2019-09-05 07:21:13 +0000 UTCI like this sort of thing simply because it does force the focus entirely on her. Backgrounds do set more "mood" but this just lets you purely appreciate the girl... Would definitely like one or three of these when you're open to comms again~

I can see with her expression that she is not really the usual type, just like you said, she kinda gives off the vibe of a slight exhibitionist for sure. I like how her breasts look nice and squishy too to me lol. I really do like how this char look, even tho as usual I am not the biggest fan of piercings, I kinda do like the nipple piercings right now so I approve hahaha. It also really looks like a pin up, while I do like backgrounds too, this really works out and makes her pop out in a really good way. Also I see what you wrote in the prev. comment and thats kinda who came into my mind, Tsuaii, well I have seen that art plenty of times and its really nice too. So I know what you mean by that and it kinda reminds me of that.
2019-09-04 17:49:37 +0000 UTCYeah I do like this too, reminds me of the some of the pieces by Tsuaii if you know him, he does these "no background pin ups" really well and people seem to love them It definitely makes it a lot easier to make the character look great when you dont have to worry about it matching the background, so it feels like my shading leveled up, but really its the same as before, its more that I need to somehow bring backgrounds to the same level

2019-09-04 16:49:38 +0000 UTCOh wow, I really like this style! The simple background really makes her pop. I do like your detailed backgrounds and other scenes, but these really work for a nice pinup style imo. Maybe I'd get a piece like this some day! (when I have money to spare orz)
