2025-07-31 04:01:37 +0000 UTCWasn’t there a similar situation with either a German or Austrian pilot back in the 2010s (maybe late 2000s)? Same (speculative) motive. If I recall correctly, the flight was a there-and-back route and it went over the Alps. I believe the copilot waited until the pilot went to the bathroom and then began to descend. The pilot came back in time and the copilot ascribed it to being a mistake on his part. Then, on the return flight, he did it again, but this time he was successful in crashing into the mountains, sadly. His family confirmed that he had been unwell and wanting to “exit” for the past several months.
