Oh I should clarify, I wasn’t thinking of the wedding customs of indoctrination, my brain goes to the moments in Monmouth’s home where the girls were all dressed the same and chanting over the table. There was an eerie sameness to all of them that felt like it had to have been achieved through some kind of empirical indoctrination. My speculation with the wedding was only that that kind of indoctrination may have informed how the daughter treated Monmouth when the two were talking alone right before the ceremony actually started.

As they've joined the galaxy at large and those are ancient customs, many find them archaic and foolish, but there are still those who hold to the old ways. The girl is just interested in her planet's history and culture and wants to be more traditional, while her parents and aunt would prefer she embrace more modern, galactic standards. That's all.
