Definitely see why they have their place. Can’t really compare one as better than the other since they are different genres with one being a parody, and that parody while great likely wouldn’t have had the success it did without genuine interest in the original source material.

You started with the abridged series which is more fitting for a western audience what with its very funny lines and apparently better pacing than the original show. Now that you’ve had a thorough experience of how a Shonen anime is usually portrayed in a non-parody format, do you think they are inferior to the abridged series or do you see why they have their place in anime history?
