To Be Hero X Episode 8 Live Reaction (FULL)

Proffesor X's school of gifted is turning out how I expected 💀 not gonna lie though easily my fav intro ep to an arc to date!

I will say though, I feel like we are going the route of blinded by good intentions with the Dean rather than just straight up evil from the beginning which makes it way more interesting

Imagine having a broken cheat skill power, but then not wanting to use it. Not for others, sure, but not even for yourself? Heck, if she really wanted to and gained an understanding of her skill, she could go the genie route, granting wishes but with an evil twist. Her luck brought a boy into her life who perfectly complemented her ability. That is so incredibly valuable. But I can already see how this is going. They keep dropping hints about scandals, infidelity, and shit. I was hoping their powers would just cancel out, letting them live normal lives. But it looks like we're going the route that both skills are active simultaneously, and the higher trust value has more influence. It seems like they're setting it up for a "doomed from the start" scenario. TBH, I'm not keen on infidelity scenarios, even when it happens to others. I'm ok with evil lord because it seems like he's never actually going to do it, intentionally or luck-wise. Idk, luck-based MCs are hard to deal with. It's hard to represent "luck" as a power without it becoming plot armor. I like how Hero X is making it seem like a curse. I'm not a follower of the Hero X source or anything, but the show so far leaves me with an impression of an author who likes to make his creations suffer. At first, I thought it was just a "let's humanize the heroes" vibe, but it's starting to cross a line for me where it seems like the author is torturing his creations as an expression of their own issues. I'll keep watching to see where Cyan goes, but this arc might be my breaking point.
