I think the style difference is from his pov of how he views his world you see it pop up when he is in his head or doing something he believes in

The style switch ups has me wondering what happens next. That ending has me looking out for Homelander or some other "hero" that is actually not very heroic.

Also, IT'S A 24 EPISODE SERIES BABYYYYYY, and if you check the twitter for this series they seem to be doing individual character stories, so Nice will be the first 4 episodes before moving onto another one. Seriously so happy it's actually good!

Couple minor nitpicks about the interview before I resume my new career as a professional glazer for this show: Our boy went from nervous, babbling fanboy to ultra smooth with Moon in two seconds flat, and navigated the gotcha questions a little too flawlessly. Also, there were a couple visual artifacts of Lin Ling's hair showing through Nice's cheek before a pull away shot. Otherwise we're talking damn near Arcane levels of CG animation quality, and THAT had movie money for a budget. The musical direction is phenomenal, from an OST that flawlessly accentuates whatever mood we're dealing with to the implementation of the two insert songs. Paragon was an excellent composition and perfectly integrated into the moment that Nice truly awakened as a capital H Hero, and the transition into Inertia at the end adds another, even darker layer to what's going to be the OP going forward. I've rewatched this episode five times already, FFS. I told myself that that was just checking to see which dub I'll be watching going forward (I'm not quite fluent enough in Spanish to follow it entirely unless I watched it in English/Japanese/Chinese first), but across the board they're all great. I'm waiting til we get to Ahu to truly make a choice there, as that's Koichi Yamadera, but there seems to be no wrong choice here. The character design for Evil Manager Man was on POINT. From using the Fear as both a thematic element (ink is the true weapon of a bureaucrat) and having it boiling off him as his rage built, to the signature stamp fists he used at one point, to the use of a toad as a helmet (toads in Chinese mythology are symbols of wealth and prosperity, and are often depicted with three legs and a coin in their mouth), there are so many little bits of attention to detail on display throughout. Why isn't it next Sunday yet?!?!

2025-04-06 17:48:03 +0000 UTCI mean, he _is_ Nice. He created the character; there was just a different guy in the suit. But seriously, what just happened? I want to see more. I can't even guess what the show is about, let alone where it's going. I feel bad about the girl, but she's also an actor playing a character, so in that sense, Nice doesn't know her, and we don't know her. Maybe the replacement will be a Moon nerd, and she'll fit perfectly? But I could have seen the story develop with the current girl, so perhaps it was unnecessary. I want to feel worse, but I didn't know her. This is bilibili, though. I've enjoyed a bunch of their shows, at least the ones that Crunchyroll deems good enough to license: Herbivorous Dragon, Let Me Check The Walkthrough First, etc. So there are probably a bunch of bad ones I haven't seen. I'm getting Reboot vibes from the 3D. Obviously, it's way better, but something about how the characters move reminds me of Reboot.

I watched it in Chinese because thatโs what was available on my ๐ดโโ ๏ธ streamer but I prefer the original language anyway and thankfully the subs were decent. It doesnโt bug me much unless the subs are bad because like Japanese you get used to it after a while. But anyway, so far Iโm definitely intrigued! Hereโs to hoping it continues to deliver. Was not expecting that cliffhanger at the end!
