2024-04-01 10:30:35 +0000 UTCI haven’t read the manga but they look more mature in the light novel as well so unfortunately we will probably loose a good bit of the seriousness that drew me to the series. Unless they change it, ignore it or have them grow up, it will be very awkward in later seasons if it gets future seasons as well as lose a whole chunk of its charm.

2024-04-01 07:19:36 +0000 UTCLargely agree on both of those. The New Gate has a good premise - slightly above average for "Former Death Game Isekai" - with an enjoyable MC. Slightly skeptical about the anime adaptation, in part because the 3 main characters all look more like teenagers rather than like adults. (Could be that the manga adaptation aged them more and that the anime is more in line with the LN, haven't looked into the LN myself. Still, the maturity of the main characters was one of the strong points for me.) With regards to Lvl 2 Cheat Powers, I also dropped it. Was so long ago that I can't remember at which volume, but it mostly was just too generic. It didn't offer any novelty concepts, nor did it present an amazing execution of the standard stuff. There are better uses of one's time than reading that.

The biggest surprise for me was "I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability." The 7th Prince is a total sorcery nerd and I love it. He'll do stupid and/or mischievous stuff if he thinks it will lead to interesting magic. It's such silly fun and I ended up reading way more than I planned. Anyway, there's a ton of interesting shows this season.

That being said I am hoping you cover Seventh Prince (Tensei Shitara Dai Nana Ouji) purely because if they even remotely do justice to the manga, and knowing your taste in anime you will have sooooo much fun watching it!! (Also episode 1 comes out tomorrow :D)

2024-03-31 19:21:11 +0000 UTCI am going to watch for sure from those you listed: Slime, Mushoku Tensei, Demon King Academy (yeah, when I finally got around to finishing it, it wasn't peak, but it left me in a decent place), Unnamed Memory (I think it's an original, and there seems to be some mystery attached, decently complex). The Chillin' and Spice and Wolf are lesser priority. Is that spy family-like one Yozakura Family? It's somewhat possible for me. Maybe New Gate. Of ones you didn't mention, I'll definitely be watching Black Butler, Irregular at Magic HS, Sound! Euphonium, and a couple of isekai, the latter because I'm reading them: Reincarnated as an Aristocrat, Reincarnated as the 7th Prince, The Banished Former Hero. I don't know much about Re:Monster but it looks like Slime. This might be great. Also Yatagarasu and Viral Hit.

2024-03-31 07:09:38 +0000 UTCThere is only 2 not big name shows I can comment on properly 1. The New Gate: Amazing, loved it, re-read it. Mixture of SAO>Overlord in terms of isekai premise. Amazing characters, story and world building. That's all that need be said. 2. Lvl 2 Cheat Powers: Dropped during volume 2. Comedy seems to be the main focus but doesn't hit. Interesting premise and nice relationship between the male and female leads but the upsides end there. Story, characters (outside the 2 main and 2 others) and comedy are crap. Although the comedy might be good for someone else overshadowing the downsides so get a bigger sample size.

2024-03-30 22:25:38 +0000 UTCTHE show for me that gets me hyped for Spring is "The Duke of Death and his Maid". They start their 3rd and last season. I went into the show expecting nothing and got an awesome, funny, slightly depressing and completely wholesome romance. I hightly recommend to at least binge Season 1 & 2 and the weekly episode. Maybe not for Patreon or YT ... But I really recommend giving it a shot.
