"You will die here today, traitor," shouted a man dressed in a black ninja outfit that only showed his eyes. He was talking to a blonde-haired, blue-eyed young man who had the same outfit on, but his face was fully revealed.

"You are like the tenth person to tell me that today, what makes you any different from those I've killed before you," The blonde said as he gestured to the dead bodies around them.

"I am not as weak as those fools," the man replied with rage in his voice, not because his comrades were killed, but because the blonde compared this weakling to him.

"Sigh, I am tired of killing you pawns. Go back to your bosses and tell them that I quit," the blonde said in a bored voice.

The ninja growled in anger at what the blonde said. He charged the other man blindly, not at all caring or thinking that the blonde looked unmoved by his attack, so he might just be prepared.

As soon as the ninja was in striking distance, he was decapitated by a thin wire the blonde had set up minutes prior.

"Well that was easy," the blonde said, noting how stupid the man was for attacking him like that. "Well, it's time to get out of Japan and go somewhere where the hand would have a harder time finding me."

The blonde let the area filled with dead bodies of hand ninja, as he walked away he thought about the name he would call himself.

As a hand ninja he was just given the title god of death but that was not his name, he is Naruto Uzumaki the strongest ninja who ever lived reborn in this world of marvel.

Fast Forward

NYC

Naruto walked through the streets of NYC, the home of several heroes and villains alike. He chose this place because even if he used his power, it was unlikely that he would stand out too much.

The former ninja sweat-dropped when he saw Spider-Man getting his ass kicked by a guy in a bird suit and another dressed like a goblin. Naruto just turned his back and continued on his way.

"Sigh, maybe I should have moved to a place with less action," Naruto said out loud as he entered his apartment.

New York was a hot spot for villains and heroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Captain America, along with their rogues' gallery.

Naruto dropped down on his sofa and turned on his TV to watch the news. He was not surprised to see it filled with interviews from the Avengers.

The Uzumaki turned the TV off and remembered how he ended up in this world of wonders and marvels.

Flashback Scene Ahead

Elemental Nation [Konoha]

"You are as cheeky as they say," the old man said. He was not impressed by what he saw of the blonde-tailed beast vessel. "First, my name is Danzo, and you will do well to remember it. What I want is to train you in secret so that you can be useful to Konoha in the future."

"Why do you want to train some random orphan? You could find someone with a bloodline to train, and they would be more useful to you," Naruto asked, as this whole situation was suspicious.

"Sigh, there are some things that I will not tell you at this time, but you are very special, and Hiruzen is wasting your potential and therefore weakening Konoha. That is something I will not allow," Danzo said in an angry voice before regaining control. "This is the deal I have for you. Vow to be loyal to me and Konoha, and I will do everything in my power to make you strong. Refuse my offer, and I will erase your memory of the last hour and drop you off where we took you."

Naruto's face turned emotionless as he looked at the old man in front of him. He knew that this Danzo didn't want him dead, at least not for now, because he could have killed him at any time during this whole encounter. But what would he have to do if he agreed to be trained, and what were the consequences of his refusal?

"I would like to be trained, Danzo-sama," Naruto said after a few minutes of thinking. The blonde gave a small bow to show he was willing to submit himself to his new leader-teacher.

"Excellent, I will have one of my men drop you back, but before he does, take this scroll. It has the technique shadow clone jutsu, which I believe is perfect for you. You can use it to distract Hiruzen long enough for me to train you," Danzo stated. Everyone knew the Hokage always kept a close eye on Naruto, so any move on the blonde would be discovered before any harm could befall him.

"Why give me a cloning technique? You should know if you were watching me that I suck at it," Naruto said with a scowl, his clones usually turn out looking like badly drawn cartoon characters.

"That may be true for regular clone techniques, but this is the shadow clone technique. It requires a massive amount of chakra and not the control needed for a regular clone," Danzo explained calmly. "I will have to teach you how to control your chakra before anything else."

"So I should be able to use shadow clones because I have a lot of chakra, and I wasn't able to do regular clones because my chakra control sucks," Naruto asked to just verify what the old man said and received a nod.

The Uzumaki got a sad look in his eyes because the old man just thought highly of him more than any academy teacher ever did, his mind went to Hokage, the man must have known that he was struggling with the cloning technique but said nothing to him about his control being too bad to use it.

Neither Danzo nor anyone knew it, but it was at this moment that all the love Naruto had for Konoha disappeared, and in its place was emptiness.

Fast forward

Years passed by in a blink of an eye, and Naruto, now 16 years old, looked down at the hidden leaf as it was being invaded by the sound and sand villages.

"Tsk, so Orochimaru made his move," Naruto said to himself. The Snake Sannin had attacked his team in the forest of death to give his teammate Sasuke a curse seal.

Danzo had warned him before that there are several people he should not confront unless absolutely necessary, and Orochimaru was one of them. That was why, when the Sannin was attacking his teammates, the blonde had stayed out of the way.

"Why do I even have to be on a genin team anyway? I'm as strong as a jounin," Naruto stated in frustration. "Oh right, it's to keep my cover as an ignorant childish fool for the hokage and to keep an eye on Sasuke in case he goes rogue."

Naruto had seen his teammates go off after Gaara and his siblings. He wondered why they would do such a thing; they should know that they are no match for the red-haired vessel of the one-tailed beast. But he guessed Sasuke's arrogance blinded him.

"I better go save that arrogant prick before he gets himself killed," Naruto said as he jumped into the streets of Konoha, killing any enemy ninja that got in his way.

Forest Outside Konoha

Naruto watched in amusement as Sakura was getting crushed on a tree by Gaara's sand. Sakura looked to be having trouble with the curse mark. He was on his hands and knees in pain. Shikamaru was useless as the summon dog beside him. The shadow manipulator was smart, but what was the use of being smart if he didn't have the strength to back it up?

"This is some sad shit," the Uzumaki stated. He didn't understand why the fuck Kakashi would send them after someone like Gaara. Maybe the cyclops wanted his team to die.

Naruto sighed as he had to save them. Danzo would not be pleased if the last Sharingan user died here, so the blonde created some shadow clones without using hand seals.

Naruto is now wearing an anbu mask, he had decided to go out hunting for super villains, they were a good source of money, tech and superpowers.

In this new world, Naruto was reincarnated as a mutant with the power of intuitive aptitude. This ability gave him many natural powers, but the most valuable was the ability to understand how any superpower worked after he saw it being used and dissected the superpower user's brain.

This power was not limited to mutants; he could copy the power of any being with powers, be they alien, god, or mutant.

The Hand (a secret ninja society) had wanted to use his abilities to further their agenda. From young, they tried to brainwash him to be loyal, but it didn't work, thanks to his strong will and past memories.

The good thing about his time with the Hand is that they gave him several superhumans and the training he needed to master his mutant powers.

"Now who should I rob first?" Naruto said out loud. The Uzumaki had taken to robbing supervillains as a means to support himself.

Naruto had come up with the idea when he decided to follow the green goblin, aka Norman Osborn, back to one of his secret hideouts. It was filled with high-tech gadgets and money.

The dumbass, Norman, wasted all his time trying to kill Spider-Man, who is just a teenager and so happens to be friends with his son Harry Osborn.

Naruto decided then and there to beat the living shit out of Narman and rob him blind. The next day, when Norman woke up, he was naked, and his hideout was cleaned out down to the kitchen sink.

From there, Naruto robbed villains like the kingpin, Doctor Octopus, and several others until they started to call him the Shadow Thief.

The name he got from the villains he robbed was not very original, but it stuck, especially when some of the villains like Doctor Octopus started complaining to the media about having all his stuff taken by a masked figure, aka him.

Usually, the police and heroes would just laugh at the misfortune of a villain. If someone robbed them, it would be ironic, but Doctor Octopus was a mad scientist with very dangerous inventions.

So naturally, the police put in the effort to have him on the media for questioning, not that the blonde would ever turn himself in.
