Chapter 9: Golden Dawn

Golden Dawn headquarters...

Naruto and Mereoleona were standing in front of the Golden Dawn headquarters, which resembled a palace-like structure atop a hill. They were there to recruit the next member of Naruto's elite team, Mimosa Vermillion.

Mimosa is a mage with a three-leaf Grimoire who specializes in using plant magic for both offensive and healing purposes.

She is a member of the Golden Dawn; their captain, William Vangeance willingly allowed his body to be controlled by an elf, nearly destroying the Clover Kingdom.

The Wizard King seemed to have forgiven him, but the blonde doubted that the rest of the Magic Knights and Clover Kingdom would. the blonde wasn't here because he had a grudge against what William did, but he was here for his next recruit.

As they approached the headquarters, they saw more of the Golden Dawn squad members outside; it seemed they were training or preparing for a mission.

"Hey there! Where's your captain?" asked Mereoleona to the blue-haired man.

The blue-haired man looked confused for a second before recognizing her as the sister of the Crimson Lion leader.

"Why are you two here?" the blue-haired man asked as his Grimoire began to glow and steel started forming around him.

Naruto wasn't really surprised the man was on guard; he was sure if it weren't for the Wizard King William, the man would have been lynched for all the damage he had caused to the Magic Knights and the Clover Kingdom natives alike.

"Oh, so you want to fight?" Mereoleona said with a wide grin.

Naruto sighed in frustration, not wanting to make the situation any more complicated than it had to be. The blonde was about to step in to stop the fight when none other than William Vangeance, the captain of the Golden Dawn, appeared.

"Mereoleona, what are you doing here? I hope it's not to harass my squad," Williams said in a calm voice, but there was an edge to his tone indicating that he would fight if necessary.

The fierce Lioness's grin widened as her battle lust started to get the best of her; Naruto saw what was happening and stepped in. He placed his hand firmly on Mereoleona's shoulder and gave it a squeeze, snapping her out of her bloodlust.

William noticed what the blonde did and sent an appreciative nod his way, Naruto noted that more Golden Dawn members had made their way out with their Grimoires glowing and ready for battle. Naruto guessed they felt the magical power Mereoleona had released and thought they were under attack.

The blonde sent the vermilion-haired woman an annoyed look, but she gave a defiant look as if saying the whole situation wasn't her fault.

Naruto just gave her a flat look and promised himself he would plow the living shit out of her the next time they were fucking.

"I'm sorry about her, but we are not here to fight but on a matter of great importance." Naruto said, getting William's attention. "Can we talk in private?"

The Golden Dawn captain considered his words and nodded, allowing the blonde and the Crownless Lioness to follow William inside as the rest of the squad relaxed, knowing a fight wouldn't break out.

So how have things been since you were reinstated as a captain?" Naruto asked, trying to break the awkward silence with small talk.

I've been busy, but I'm hopeful everything will turn out fine," said the captain of the Golden Dawn.

The rest of the walk was in silence as Naruto and Mereoleona looked around the headquarters; it really was just as castle-like on the inside as it was the outside.

Golden Dawn Captains Office...

Naruto was thinking about what to tell William; he definitely couldn't tell him he suspected the Wizard King of being a sleeper agent. The captain of the Golden Dawn was too loyal to Julius to see anything other than good in him.

So Naruto figured he would just tell William he was on an assignment from the Wizard King and needed one of his guild members.

"Now that we have some privacy, what do you want to talk about?" the captain asked.

"I am on a secret assignment from the Wizard King and I need Mimosa to join my team for an indefinite amount of time." Naruto replied as he watched the Captain of the Golden Dawn go through many different emotions before speaking.

"I will allow it if Julius agrees, but you will have to ask Mimosa first if she is willing to go with you," William stated.

"I don't think you understand what is at stake," Mereoleona said, making William flinch. "This team is here to protect the Clover Kingdom from enemies both outside and within. You are one of the reasons that the country is as weak as it is." She paused, then continued. "We don't need to ask Mimosa for her permission; anyone we choose for the team is automatically drafted."

"Look, I don't want to make this more difficult than it has to be, but we are here to recruit Mimosa." The blonde Vice Captain said. "Call her here so we can tell her what is happening and we can get this over with."

William put his face in his hands before he got up and led the two to where he knew Mimosa would be, she was in the training area with a black-haired teen and the same blue-haired man who had confronted them before.

Yuno, Klaus, Mimosa, this is the Vice Captain of the Crimson Lions, Naruto, and the woman next to him is Mereoleona, the sister of the leader of the Crimson Lions," William informed his squad members. "They are here to recruit you, Mimosa, to join an elite team that will be responsible for some top-secret missions to protect the Clover Kingdom."

William decided to just tell them what was happening, but it seemed that Yuno and Klaus didn't like the idea of someone just coming in here and demanding that one of their squad members go with them.

"I don't like this either, but the Wizard King himself granted them permission to draft anyone they need for their team, regardless of whether or not they want to join." The captain of the Golden Dawn said, trying to calm down the two males standing in front of Mimosa protectively.

"Look, I don't have time for this, so I will make a deal with you," Naruto said. "We will have a sparring match, and if either of you two can land a hit on me, I will leave without taking Mimosa. But if I win, you both join my team." The blonde illusion mage stated.

Yuno and Klaus looked at each other before looking at Mimosa who nodded to them with a shy smile. "We accept your challenge," they both said in unison. "Mimosa will be fighting too, since she's the one that has the most to lose." Yuno replied with confidence, his spirit cheering him on.

"Sure whatever floats your boat." Naruto said feeling sorry for them as he was going to beat up some kids but he needed Mimosa.

During the exchange, William didn't interfere and just watched; he didn't know how powerful the blonde Vice Captain was, but Yuno, Klaus, and Mimosa should be able to hold their own and land a clean hit.

Mereoleona's face had a look of pity on it as she watched the Golden Dawn members' confident and hopeful expressions, which were about to be crushed mercilessly in just a few minutes.

William looked over to Yuno, Klaus, and Mimosa on one side while they summoned their magic and Naruto on the other side, looking lazily at his opponents before yawning, making the captain of the Golden Dawn sweatdrop.

"This is a match to decide whether Mimosa will join the newly formed squad the Wizard King is creating to protect the Clover Kingdom, or remain with the Golden Dawn" William exclaimed, "There will be no lethal attacks or weapons; Team Dawn wins if they land a hit on Naruto, and Naruto wins if he knocks all the members of Team Golden Dawn out."

By now, the commotion had drawn the attention of the other Golden Dawn members, who were cheering on their squadmates. William raised his hand up and brought it down, signaling the start of the match.

After the Sparring Match...

To say the match was short would be an understatement; Yuno tried to attack the blonde with his wind magic, but Naruto confused his senses with his illusion magic, making him attack his own teammates.

Naruto disappeared and reappeared in front of Mimosa; he slammed his fist into her stomach, making her vomit and pass out. Meanwhile, Klaus attacked with his steel magic, but was caught in an illusion, making him believe he and the blonde were engaged in an equally matched, intense battle.

Yuno somehow managed to snap himself out of the blonde illusion; he was now using the power of his spirit, which honestly looked pretty cool, as he made a sword and attacked at full speed.

His sword went through the blonde's body, but that turned out to be an illusion; Yuno continued to attack, only to find himself fighting the blonde illusions.

Naruto decided to end the match by putting the spirit that had lent Yuno its power into an illusion, causing it to fall asleep, and without the spirit's power, Naruto was able to overwhelm Yuno and end the match.

The other Golden Dawn member couldn't believe his eyes; Yuno might not have been stronger than their captain, but he was among the strongest of their squad members.

Mereoleona was standing to the side, smiling with her hands crossed under her breasts, making them appear larger.

Naruto turned to William,"So I won right?" the blonde asked snapping William out of his shock and he decided Naruto was the winner.

Naruto said, "I'll be back in a few days; you can tell Mimosa when she wakes up to use that time to get her affairs in order." He and Mereoleona then walked out of the Golden Dawn headquarters.

"So who is the next person you want to recruit to the team?" Mereoleona asked Naruto curiously.

"No clue," Naruto replied. "We two are the heavy hitters, and Lily and Mimosa are the healers." He paused for a moment before continuing. "We would need some more heavy hitters, but I think we should focus on training the two new members to be on the level the missions will require them to be at."

"I also plan to train you too." Naruto said while looking at the mother of his children.

Mereoleona tilted her head; she was surprised the blonde wanted to train her too, did he think she was weak? She glared at Naruto who saw the look and knew what was coming, a flaming fist was aimed at his face which he dodged and grabbed her wrist. The blonde guessed he would have to train her in more ways than one.

He would have to make her stronger, and then he would make her his willing, obedient bitch to satisfy his every need.

Fast Forward...

Naruto sighed as he watched the short-tempered woman do it again; they were lucky to be far enough away from the Golden Dawn headquarters, in a forest far from any potential destruction Mereoleona could cause.

It looked like Mereoleona left him in a mess once again, the blonde thought as he hung his head.
