2024-07-25 17:51:03 +0000 UTCSpartan has more depth than people give him credit for. But, its true that he does tend to gravitate towards Alpha male characters. I think I commented in season 3 that the Billy love was unwarranted. From the moment you're a racist, you don't get good marks from me. They never explicitly said that's what Billy was. But the targeting of Lucas was a pretty clear indication, and the character was never redeemed for that. However, if were talking about the actor and not the character, then he gets 10/10 from me. Great delivery.

Papa unlocking the collar on Eleven, he was still a scumbag for what he did to her and those kids. For crying out loud you literally shit on Suzie in an earlier reaction and insinuate she's responsible for Billy dying. LOL

I think El needs to know how to Heal if she's going to be a true superhero. She needs to know how to do more than destroy and Max is a great vehicle for that.

They completely deflated the wave of emotions I felt when I thought she died (and it was a great fake death. I felt so heartbroken at her last moments) and then they freakin revived her. Made it feel so cheap and like they’re afraid to take a proper risk

Makes sense ❤️ A sad ending, cannot wait to see what season 5 has in store for us. RIP Eddie. An absolute legend. Let’s hope they find a way to bring him back. There are things that they could do that would align with DnD lore. Let’s hope it comes by end of 2025 at the latest!!!

2024-07-09 02:33:44 +0000 UTCI disagree with Vecna because he’s the main bad guy of the series. He’s supposed to be super powerful and killing him in one season weakens his character. Having completed his goal, now he’s more powerful than El and I still think El will need to give her life to kill him in S5. I agree with you though, Max will be used as some sort of vessel. However I think Vecna will have her soul and because her body isn’t completely dead like everyone else, she’ll be able to return back.

Like being Vecna’s vessel or something. I could see Sadie pull of evil and ominous great.Or just being blind and a mess, but still have good scenes somehow

Let's say she did get her soul back, she still has broken bones and is blind due to the trauma she just went through. The only way we get some sort of happy ending for Max is if they introduce time travel.

Most people felt like his character arc peaked, similar to what Spartan said, and were tired of “new characters dying off straight away.” Then they did the exact same thing with Eddie which pissed even more people off while having another fakeout with Max.

I think she played her role this season and it would’ve been great motivation for the crew next season. The writers wanted to increase the stakes w/o actually killing a main character and it feels empty on rewatch.

Also, RIP Eddie. Definitely a hero. I wish we could’ve kept him on the team for S5, but at least he got a beautifully tragic death.

He’s been given plenty of shiny moments for a secondary character. I love him but I think they’re forgetting that he’s just one member in a team.

I love Eleven, but I hope she "squares up" next season because she spent all season 4 crying. Understandibly I'll admit. I also hope they do something with Will because he is pretty much useless and could be renamed Will "third will" Byers. I don't think you mentioned it, but it seems pretty clear that he is gay, and probably has feelings for Mike. That's not enough character development though, and I hope he gets some kind of arc next season

2024-07-08 02:13:36 +0000 UTCfr. billy did one good thing the whole time, and that was sacrificing himself. it sucked that he was flayed and he didn't deserve to die but besides that ONE moment before he died, he was a complete jerk! he was a bully, pretty obviously racist, he treated max so poorly all of season 2 and was mean to steve, beat his ass & played dirty by smashing a plate over his head. i don't see what spartan sees in him. edit: and argyle was definitely a real one. he got dragged into everything and he still drove them across country and helped them however he could.

Billy was not a jerk for literally 4-5 minutes of the show, but Argyle made many contributions to the CA team this season. He saved them from the shootout, drove them to Suzie to find the NINA location, the tracks to the location itself AND the pizza place with the salt for the bath for El's mind fight.
