For me season 1 and 4 are tied for first and 2 and 3 tied for second place. The Lost Sister episode is the only thing that brings 2 down I think, it's boring as heck, but if you skip it the rest of the season is tight. There are some things I like about 2 over 3 and some things I like about 3 over 2 so it evens out.

Also the last song wasn't intended to be romantic, the writers just pointed out that it was about the mind flayer looking at Eleven. Btw, can't wait for season 3.

This season was one of my favorites, even with my reluctance towards episode 7, I think it was extraordinary. Following your conversation, Dustin and Steve are definitely my favorites although all the characters bring a lot of good things. Hop is a true hero and Joyce is the mother of the year, always resilient. I feel exactly the same about Nancy's love triangle, I like seeing her with Jonathan but Steve has grown so much in my heart and I want him to be happy. Eleven is a beast and you can see how much her powers have grown. Again, I understand the way Billy acts, he's an ass but I can't hate him. It's been great following you on this journey, I can't wait for S3 and S4, I don't want to create expectations but get reeeaaady! I love your reactions, I love the community and I'm looking forward to what's next Now i will die slowly till the next episode 😂❤️❤️❤️

Your reactions were particularly funny, I just love whenever Spartan want to "throw someone in the bin". Pudgey finally getting a definitive answer for Barb! The actor who plays Billy was I think 24 at the time, and all of the older teenagers/young adults were in their mid 20s, so often they seem older than their character is supposed to be. Steve actor is the oldest. I also like Steve a bit better than Jonathan in season 2, but I don't want him and Nancy to end up together, I don't think they're a good match.

All we know at this point is that El was actually the reason that dimension was able to connect with their own and all we know about El is that she is some sort of mutant that was experimented on so young she didn't know anything about the outside world. I've watched the entire show before and I personally don't think there was a weak season. I enjoyed every one as much as eachother.

2024-04-29 07:50:01 +0000 UTCI think you always have to consider the rewatch. Yes these shows are never horrible on a first watch cause no matter what, you wanna know what's happening. But on a rewatch, Mike and El's first scenes (season 1) will kind of always be nice to watch, but the whole Hop-El fighting, the Mike staring at a Walkie-Talkie half of the season, etc etc. will not be as good. Once the mystery is gone, these episodes lose value. This season was actually very slow with not much huge enemies (unless you wanna consider demogorgons to be exciting, whereas they are just brainless superdogs). The only thing intriguing is the shadow of the mind flayer. This is what I personally think, I can't speak to everyone.

2024-04-29 07:38:24 +0000 UTCIn my opinion everyone loved season 2 at the time it released it’s just that… seasons 3 and 4 are that good where when ranked season 2 tends to be looked at as the weakest… even though it was not weak at all. I just leave it at they’re all important parts of a great story. Spartan I appreciate you making the hard choice and admitting you now prefer Steve for Nancy over Jonathan. It’s a courageous take to say aloud I expect nothing less. As usual Pudgey House is indecisive. Lacks honor. Do better. As for Steve getting beat up again… think of each character as having a specific group role like an RPG game (like D&D). Steve is the party’s tank. It’s his job to protect the squishier party members by taking as much damage as possible. He accepts the pain so that others take less pain. This is true of Steve on more than just the physical level as you saw this episode. Now the bad. A walk of shame on you both for shipping my man Hop with Joyce “now that Bob is out of the way” as Pudgey put it. Bob’s body isn’t even cold yet you savages. All in all another awesome season and already can’t wait to catch season 3 with you guys. I’ve been here for some amazing shows and this one feels like not only one of the greats but the most fun yet.

More props to Noah Schnapp who plays Will, his "exorcism" of the mindflayer-parasite thing was such an amazing scene from everyone involved. But yeah, Gate closed, Mindflayer gone, Hopkins Lab shut down. No more issues, the next two seasons is just about the boys playing DnD in their basement and eating snacks.

She cheated on him and he tells her that it’s ok lol .Steve is just the MVP this season easily and I would honestly put Billy second bc he was such an interesting character with minimal screen time , alot to do with how good Billy’s actor is .

Fun fact, this show is filmed in my hometown (Metro Atlanta), and I got to meet Gaten (Dustin) at dinner one night in Atlanta. Also, the main location of next season was such a huge piece of my childhood, and it was so special seeing it fixed up again because it’s condemned now. 😭

2024-04-29 03:19:01 +0000 UTCI have never understood the complaints about season 2 or 3. Most of the ill will for the second season was a result of episode 7. After the success of S1 Netflix had pushed the creators to expand the story in an attempt to create a spinoff because at the time that was the tv trend. The show creators didn't love the idea of a backdoor pilot or doing a bottle episode so they tried to craft a supplemental story that explored what 11 could be if she took another path different than the one others put her on. . After the 7th episode was panned by critics & fans including a SNL skit spoofing the expansion possibility they abandoned that idea. With that said one bad/ average episode in my opinion didn't hurt the overall story. It was a great season.

Looking forward to exploring season 3 with you all. I was so glad that we saw Murray in the end (the former news reporter) that got the story out about Hawkins Lab and that they finally could lay Barb's body to rest. One of my favorite scenes (besides almost all of the scenes at the end starting with Hop and El in the car) was when Max jabbed the syringe in Billy's neck and then almost hit him in the junk with the bat o nails. Ted is on my why the heck does he exist. I thought it was funny that the guy on the cover of the novel Mrs. Wheeler was reading looked like Billy lol. I think he is probably 18 but .... whatever still weird since Nancy is close to his age. The scene with Will's exorcism was so intense. It was scary when he grabbed Joyce's neck and held on. El reuniting with everyone was great. The gate scene was scary.

Steve uses violence reluctantly where Billy seems more comfortable and uses it as a go to. Which makes sense when you see how quickly his dad moves towards violence

The quality skyrockets from here and the pacing of the story accelerates to crazy levels over the next two seasons--so ST2 sort of pales in comparison because the overall plot doesn't advance all that much. It tells a singular story that is mostly just a doorway into the HUGE events of the rest of the show.
