Oh yes, the soundtrack was amazing along with the beautiful scenery and camera work. BTW, I want to eat pasta when I see your name.

This was sooooo good. Love how Spartans people were part of the back story. Very courageous and honorable people. It is sad how they became obsolete due to better mechanics with rifles, cannons, etc. Thematically, it reminded me a lot of the movie Dances with Wolves. I loved the scenery and how the Samurais had respect for their people. Very tearful ending. Loved the way Nathan became a samurai by learning their ways, just not in fighting but how they did everything with excellence.

This might be my favorite single movie, trilogy is lord of the rings, but as a single movie this is just too good.

For Spartan.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp6_Rjxs9U8 Hans Zimmer is beyond master level at creating and composing a score for film.. My personal two favorites off this soundtrack.. "A way of life" and "A small measure of peace".. Bushidō 武士道 Spartan & Pudgey.. Thank you!!

Fantastic movie ⚔️ 🥷

Loved this movie. I think you guys would love the movie "The Patriot" starring Mel Gibson. It's in the same vein as this movie and Gladiator, but about the American Revolution. It's an amazing film I think, always loved it. Great emotional story.

Happy new years guys! Tbh I'm actually surprised Spartan hasn't watched this since he's such a big war movie fan but hey I'm grateful for the reaction lol I'm a big history buff so I wanted to explain the traditions and context a bit so big picture this movie is taking place during Japan's industrial revolution, called the Meiji Restoration, and it all happened in like 50 years. It's one of the fastest modernization periods in history like within one lifetime they went from swords and bows to modern firearms, gunboats, electricity, trains but they also adopted western dress, political systems, etc. During this time the Emperor took a lot of power away from the samurai to achieve his goals but in the movie Katsumoto is rebelling against the cultural change to society (and probably the political aspect). It's ironic cause the samurai actually did use guns, they were one of the earlier adopters of the tech via trade with the Portugese, but I guess he gave them up as a point. The general samurai on the side of Nathan's in the beginning didn't really betray the samurai, he just believed in a different philosophy of serving the emperor and probably commited seppoku cause he fought against Katsumoto's philosophy of traditionalism and lost. Anyways sorry for the rant, but Spartan brother if you love this you got to check out this new show coming out called Shogun. Hiroyuki Sanada, the second in command samurai you loved, plays the shogun and it looks like Japanese game of thrones.
