I definately need to look into getting a colour pallette pic done like Dov Sherman mentions, as my only refs are a document for each character describing their appearance and showing previous artworks of them.... It has a section with blobs of color for a variety of skin tone and hair colors and some common eye colors, as well as a few coordinated palettes for different themes like bridal or Xmas. It's especially useful for keeping a record of colors I use for recurring characters. I just open up this one file and I can quickly sample the base colors I need for any character without having to go back through a lot of old images.
