Yuu 356-360

In the players’ rest area:
“Now for the finals. Same order as today. Any objections?”
“None!”
“Good. Dismissed.”
After Yuu gave the order, the kendo club members saluted and began packing their things, leaving the room with a mix of excitement and anxiety.
Himura patted his shoulder, smiling. “This is a rare chance. Why not try the thrill of defeating five people alone in the finals? We’ll win because of you anyway.”
“No need.” Yuu didn’t even look at him, simply slinging his bamboo sword bag and armor over his shoulder. “Even if they’re not great, they’ve made it this far. It’s fine to let them fight and show their skills.”
A smile lingered on Himura’s face, but his narrowed eyes opened slightly.
“Even if they just lose in front of others?”
“Even if they just lose in front of others, at least none of them slacked off or got lazy because of me. That’s enough.”
Himura’s eyes widened briefly in surprise, then softened into a warm, cheerful smile. He bowed ninety degrees to him.
“Thanks, Tenkuji-kun. You’re more suited to be kendo club president than me.”
Holding the door handle, Yuu turned to him, smiling back.
“Sorry, I’d rather be a regular member in a small club.”
The door closed. Suddenly, the phone in his pocket vibrated.
It was an unknown number.
“Hello? Who’s this?”
On the other end, a clear, youthful voice lacked its usual arrogance, speaking only with a serious tone. “Brother-in-law, you can talk now, right?”
“Mana?” Yuu asked, confused. “When did you sneakily get my number?”
“W-Who sneakily got your number?! With the Natsukawa family’s power, finding your phone number is easy. Don’t get too full of yourself!” Mana snapped back angrily. But, as if recalling something, she quickly cleared her throat and calmed down.
“No beating around the bush. Straight to the point… You know the Starbucks nearby, right? Can you come?”
Yuu sounded exasperated. “Huh? Masuzu and I have other places to visit. I don’t have time for a date with a kid.”
“…”
On the other end, a deep breath was audible. Mana seemed furious. Yuu could faintly hear her muttering, ‘He’s my brother-in-law, I can use him later. Don’t get mad at him…’ Her complaints dripped with frustration.
“Who’d want a date with you?! It’s my dad. He has business with you!”
After a moment, she finally shouted in a resentful tone.
“Your dad? Why didn’t you say so earlier? You’re so long-winded.” Yuu sighed, turning to walk in a different direction down the players’ corridor.
“What, a big shot doesn’t want to talk directly to a kid like me? Fine. The great master of the Natsukawa family came all the way to Kyoto to find me. That’s honor enough for me.”
“Go ahead and mock him. I’m just the messenger!” Mana said irritably. “By the way, he just watched your match. I also told Masuzu to avoid Dad so she doesn’t get dragged back home.”
“Mm, good job. Very Mana-chan of you.” Yuu nodded nonchalantly.
Mana was livid. “Huh? That’s it? This is my first time helping someone’s relationship, and you treat me so casually?!”
“So, what do you want? A pat on the head from Onii-chan? Or should I pick you up and swing you around?”
“Be my bodyguard for a day—”
“Say hi to Yasuoka-san for me.”
Not bothering to let her finish, Yuu hung up. He then called Masuzu’s number.
“Masuzu, tell the others to wait at the cafeteria for a bit. I’ll be there soon.”
“…Yuu, are you really going to meet him?” Masuzu’s voice was heavy and anxious, unlike her usual self. “He came all the way to Kyoto to find you. That man definitely has bad intentions. He might not leave after just a few words.”
Yuu smiled. “Hey, didn’t you used to trust me a lot? Why are you scared now?”
“It’s not fear, it’s just…”
“Relax, just wait for my good news.” Yuu spoke with an undeniable tone. “Your dad, no matter how powerful, is just a businessman. But your boyfriend isn’t just a student. Even without dirty tricks, I have plenty of ways to take you away from him—do you think a guy who can’t keep his daughter is a match for me?”
Masuzu said, bewildered, “Your words are cool, but why do I feel like you’re spouting nonsense?”
“Nonsense or not, as long as it’s cool.”
“…Fine. I’ll wait for your good news.” Masuzu finally smiled. “Mr. Boyfriend, that’s your future father-in-law, you know. Be a little polite.”
Yuu raised an eyebrow. “What if he plans to break us up?”
“Hmm… Don’t be too harsh?”
“Got it, darling.”
Hearing his serious reply, Masuzu froze, panicking slightly. “Eh? That was a joke, right? You’re not actually going to attack him—”
She didn’t finish, as Yuu had already hung up.
Both Natsukawa sisters suffered the same fate—having their conversations cut off before they could finish.
“Well then, let’s get started… The mandatory parent talk!”
Muttering to himself, Yuu slipped his phone into his pocket. He left the players’ corridor and headed toward Starbucks.
◆━⊰✧⊱━◆
Under the green-and-white mermaid logo, a blonde girl with twin tails stomped her foot impatiently. Her cute, delicate face was full of frustration.
“So slow! How dare you stroll here so casually!”
“Your dad’s not a train. Why should I rush to catch him?”
Speaking casually, Yuu reached out and ruffled her head.
Mana tried to dodge, but Yuu still managed to place his hand on her head, patting it twice firmly.
“You jerk of a brother-in-law!”
Her fair face flushed red. Mana stomped on his foot with her small boots as hard as she could. Yuu’s expression didn’t change. He only said lightly:
“Release in three seconds, or I’ll lift you up in public.”
“…”
Scary, scary. This jerk would actually do it!
To preserve her dignity, Mana could only step back a few paces, her face full of embarrassment. Her eyes glistened slightly.
(Damn it, I went out of my way to do so much for them, and all I get is being treated like a toy?!)
(This world is ruled by bad people. Good people don’t get happy endings!)
“Why’re you spacing out? Let’s go.”
Without looking at Mana’s expression, Yuu passed her, pushing open the shop’s door. His voice carried a soft chuckle.
“Besides, I can’t be a bodyguard. At most, I’ll listen to your problems or troubles and think of ways to help you solve them.”
“If you want to be treated like a little sister, try harder with your big sister, Mana.”
The bell chimed melodiously. Yuu stepped into Starbucks. Mana stood frozen outside, staring at his back for a long time, speechless.
“…Treated like a little sister? Who needs that? This sister-complex weirdo, I’ll rat you out to Big Sis later.”
Pouting and muttering, she still stepped forward, gently tugging his sleeve.
“Where are you going? My dad’s over there! Don’t wander around if you don’t know the way!”
“Yeah, yeah. Then I’ll leave it to you to lead.”
“Hmph!”

Title: Time to Meet the Parents
In a corner of Starbucks, a handsome man sat on a dark green sofa, holding a white porcelain coffee cup with an upright posture.
Through the swirling steam, his smile appeared calm and approachable. He looked young, as if only thirty-five, but his aura exuded the experience and maturity of someone in their forties or fifties.
His jet-black hair had not a single gray strand. His branded suit hugged his well-built frame. The luxury watch on his wrist gleamed with understated elegance. He practically had “high-class” written on his forehead, giving the first impression of a director or executive.
Which, in fact, he was.
Natsukawa Ryouji, head of the Natsukawa family, owned several multinational companies. He had achieved remarkable success in politics and business. On the surface, he was untainted by scandal, a rare model businessman.
“Nice to meet you. Want a coffee? My treat.”
“Then I won’t hold back.” Yuu sat across from him, turning to Mana, who had just arrived. “Please order me a large iced Americano, takeaway cup. Your dad’s paying.”
“…” Mana’s small chest heaved like waves. After a deep breath, she glared at him sharply, then turned to the bald man in sunglasses. “Yasuoka, you heard him!”
The muscular bodyguard nodded obediently and went to the counter to order.
As for Mana, she initially wanted to sit next to Yuu. But after meeting her father’s gaze, she pursed her lips and walked to another empty table, pouting.
“Fine, fine, I won’t disturb your talk!”
After his daughter left, Ryouji shrugged, saying with slight resignation, “Mana’s like this—maybe because I spoiled her too much, she’s far wilder than her older sister.”
“Indeed. Kids her age, if not disciplined properly, will face big losses later.” Yuu agreed. “Besides, parents and bodyguards can’t always be by her side. If something happens, there’ll be times they can’t protect her.”
“I agree. Her temperament needs to be reined in.” Ryouji nodded seriously, without a hint of condescension or small talk. He then looked at Yuu, smiling. “Is that because you’ve taught her a lesson before? Mana seems quite obedient to you. It makes me a bit jealous.”
Yuu sighed. “What can I do? After being provoked like that, wouldn’t I be less of a man if I did nothing? Masuzu was there too. I saw it as curbing her sister’s arrogance for her sake.”
Since Masuzu had been mentioned, the small talk ended there.
“We haven’t introduced ourselves, have we? I’m Masuzu’s father.” Ryouji said, pulling a gold-framed cardholder from his pocket and handing Yuu a business card.
Yuu glanced at it, then took out his wallet, retrieving a card he’d printed in his spare time.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Tenkuji. Here’s my card.”
“Oh? A high school student’s business card? First time I’ve received one.” Ryouji raised an eyebrow in surprise. He carefully examined the card’s details. “Tenkuji Network Co., Ltd… A company related to internet technology?”
Yuu said flatly, “Yes. I’m quite talented in this field. If you have projects related to network security or web development, you can reach out. You’ll find my technical certification logos on those sites.”
Ryouji understood his intent, pocketing the card seriously. “I’ll do that. I look forward to working with your company.”
Yuu closely observed his expression.
Regardless of his personality, in terms of interacting with others, Yuu found him impeccable. There was barely a trace of pretense.
Even facing a high school student, Ryouji maintained the same demeanor as when meeting business associates—distant but not cold, no different from how he was with his children. It was almost instinctual.
“You’re more impressive than I thought, Tenkuji-kun.”
“Likewise, Natsukawa-san.” After a moment’s thought, Yuu propped his chin on his elbow against his thigh, speaking frankly. “Before meeting, you must’ve investigated me. Likewise, I know a bit about you… So, let’s skip the pleasantries and probing. I have dinner with my friends later. Getting to the point benefits us both.”
“Wow, am I really talking to a high schooler? It’s surprising Japan has a talented young man like you.”
Shaking his head in admiration, Ryouji praised him, then looked him in the eye, asking with a smile:
“Are you serious about your relationship with Masuzu?”
“Of course. Serious enough to marry and have kids after graduation.” Yuu answered firmly, without hesitation.
“You’re only seventeen. Don’t you think…” Ryouji raised an eyebrow, amused, choosing his words, “…it’s childish? Your futures are still long. No one can predict what’ll happen.”
“Childhood promises are all lies. That’s what you mean, right?” Facing his noncommittal gaze, Yuu shrugged.
“Think what you want. Maybe it’ll change, maybe not. For now, believing in the present is enough… Isn’t love something happening right now?”
Ryouji thought briefly, then smiled wryly. “You’re right. I thought the same when I was young. But now…”
“Interests outweigh relationships, so there’s no choice?”
“…”
The words hit too close. They practically laid bare his thoughts, leaving Ryouji momentarily silent. He could only stare in surprise at Yuu’s faint smile. The room fell quiet.
*CLINK!*
Yasuoka placed the iced Americano on the table, then stepped back quietly, blocking Mana’s curious gaze.
“Are you going to use political marriage as an excuse to make me leave Masuzu?”
Yuu picked up his coffee, taking a sip, his tone flat. “Give it up. Unless you send someone to kill me, I’ll protect her freedom to choose, no matter what methods you use.”
“Protect her freedom to choose… Not take her from me?” Ryouji didn’t mock his bold words. Instead, he asked the question.
“You’re her father, and I’m her boyfriend—neither emotionally nor legally do I have that right.” Yuu met his gaze honestly, smiling. “Unless she asks me to elope with her.”
Ryouji paused, as if giving up on something, sighing softly.
“You’re a tough son-in-law… I don’t know if it’s good or bad for Masuzu to have a boyfriend like you.”
“It’s definitely good for her. But for a father planning to use her for a political marriage, maybe not.”
Yuu smiled. “Though my assets don’t match yours, and I lack the network you’ve built over years, I can at least support a girlfriend who doesn’t eat properly, just watches JOJO, and curses couples.”
Ryouji’s expression didn’t change much. He pointed out the issue. “But before summer break, you relied on part-time jobs to support yourself and your sister. Only after summer did things change significantly… Masuzu is the Natsukawa family’s gem. Do you think your past economic situation held value for her to leave the Natsukawa family?”
“If there’s nothing keeping her in the Natsukawa family, even my past economic situation would’ve been enough for her to stay with me.”
Yuu met his gaze. “Besides, you said ‘past’ yourself… The current me should satisfy you enough, right? As a potential son-in-law.”
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have called him a tough son-in-law earlier.
“…”
As if facing a demon who could see into hearts, Ryouji hadn’t felt this pressured in ages. The conversation’s flow was controlled by the other side. Every word he wanted to say was preempted.
He unconsciously clasped his fingers, rubbing his thumb, and said seriously, “Indeed. Your outstanding athletic performance, your surprising academic progress, or the terrifying strength that completely dominated the match earlier—I had a good impression of you before we even met and spoke… If you liked Mana instead of Masuzu, I wouldn’t have come to meet you and would’ve let you two develop.”
(Sorry, I’m not into flat-chested, twin-tailed blonde lolis.)
Yuu kept that thought to himself out of politeness.
“But I want you to know one thing… My business will expand further. The countries we enter will increase. So, in my plan, she’ll study abroad. After graduating, she’ll navigate high society, build connections, and create as much profit as possible for the Natsukawa family. Then, I’ll find her a good match and marry her off.”
Ryouji casually laid out the life planned for Masuzu.
If Yuu hadn’t appeared, everything might’ve gone according to plan.
“As expected.” Yuu pursed his lips, expressionless.
“You’re not surprised?” Ryouji asked instinctively, unable to suppress a wry smile. “Right, you saw through my intentions. You came to this meeting prepared.”
Yuu sipped his coffee. “Because Masuzu said you’re someone who prioritizes profit.”
“She said that? That’s a misunderstanding. If I didn’t care about them, how could I let them move to Japan?”
Ryouji said innocently, “Being born into the Natsukawa family is unavoidable… I’m sure Masuzu knows that. It’s only because of you that she’s started resisting and refusing to accept it.”
“So, you plan to make her not have me?”
The corner of Yuu’s lips curved slightly. His tone was calm and controlled, but a cold glint flashed in his eyes.
“Don’t put it like that. Think calmly—with your conditions, you could find a better girl and form more relationships.” Ryouji remained unshaken, beginning to persuade with logic.
“I won’t stop you from dating, because who hasn’t been young? But ultimately, you’re from different worlds. Masuzu must create profit for the Natsukawa family abroad. Meanwhile, you could become a sports star or even rise high in the police force with your kendo talent. Five, ten years from now, you’ll be on very different paths.”
“People’s hearts can change, feelings can change. That’s normal. If you both insist on marrying at eighteen, I’ll consider other possibilities… For now, I don’t think we’re on opposing sides. As long as you can protect her value, I’ll entrust her to you until she goes abroad for college.”
Ryouji smiled warmly, his tone cheerful. “How’s that? This is the compromise I’m making for you. I told you I value you highly. We don’t need to fight over something trivial.”
There are no eternal enemies, only eternal interests.
Yuu understood. Ryouji was a mature adult and a quintessential businessman—even his daughter could be a bargaining chip, constantly evaluated for her worth. Shaking hands and making peace with a high schooler was nothing to him.
Compared to him, Haruno’s mother was a saint, and Asuna’s mother was just a short-sighted opportunist. In a sense, Ryouji was far harder to deal with.
The only way to convince someone like him was to show your own value, make him change his mind, and believe that entrusting his daughter to you could yield more profit than a marriage.
…But Yuu didn’t need to do that.
As long as it didn’t interfere with his romance, he didn’t need to argue with Ryouji.
Marriage? Political marriage? What did that have to do with Yuu?
Once his task was done, Masuzu would be a stranger to him. She was never part of his past, and he didn’t need to stay with her until the end of her future—as Ryouji said, talking about the future now was too childish, because promises made now would change sooner or later.
Because Yuu couldn’t stay with his girlfriend until the end.
He, who would eventually vanish from others’ memories, had no right to guarantee a future or talk about life plans beyond romance.
—So, in the end, he could only bluff.
“Natsukawa-san, do you know why I started a company and began earning money, even before graduating high school?”
Yuu stood, finishing his iced Americano and slamming the cup on the table.
“What?” Ryouji looked up at him.
“Just to tell you parents that there’s a promising son-in-law candidate here. So, don’t give up on her so easily!”
After a moment’s thought, feeling his words lacked gravitas, Yuu added, “You may give up on her, but she might not give up on your daughter—don’t underestimate a poor young man. Later, it’ll be hard to say who’s unworthy of whom.”
Ryouji looked confused. “You parents?”
“Ahem, ahem.” Yuu slipped up. “Anyway, I’ll say this. Father-in-law, your daughter’s under my care for now. Don’t drag her back to Sweden on a whim. Otherwise, I’ll have to chase after her, and that’s such a hassle.”
“Sorry. If she’s disobedient in Japan, I’ll still take her back—”
“Then I’ll provide everything she needs to run away from home. Let’s see what matters more to her: a profit-driven family or a gentle, handsome lover?”
Ignoring Ryouji’s slight frown, Yuu turned, leaving one last sentence.
“Now or later, I’ll support whatever she wants to do until the end. And I’ll oppose whatever she rejects until the end—because I’m Masuzu’s boyfriend.”
Who cares about rights?
If he couldn’t even say something like that in front of his future father-in-law, what was the point of being a boyfriend? He might as well go back to his village and grow sweet potatoes with his little sister!
Most importantly, once the timeline shifted, whatever he said would be forgotten. So, what was wrong with being a bit arrogant now?
(If you dare, chase me to the future, and we’ll talk about how much dowry you’ll give!)
With that relaxed and calm thought, Yuu walked out of Starbucks, ready to tell Masuzu the good news about the successful negotiation.
Meanwhile, Ryouji sat silently, watching his back disappear.
“…Dad?”
Seeing their talk had ended, and it didn’t seem to go well, Mana glanced at the door. She looked back at her father’s expression, asking cautiously.
“So… how’d it go?”
With slightly pursed lips, Ryouji lowered his head, rubbing his forehead and sighing. “It wasn’t as smooth as I thought… If Masuzu’s attitude is like his, we really need to change our plans.”
Seizing the chance, Mana quickly said, “Masuzu definitely likes him more than you think!”
“Really?”
Ryouji lowered his fingers from his forehead, lightly tapping the table.
After thinking for a long time, he pulled out the business card from his pocket, looking at it again. He muttered meaningfully, “It seems bringing him into the company and training him as an assistant could create more profit… Not marriage, but joining the family? I can’t keep clinging to old ways. I need to adapt to this era.”
He turned to Mana. “Mana, for now, I won’t make you return to Sweden. Stay in Japan, keep an eye on them. If possible, live with your sister. If anything happens, let me know. You know what kind of information I want to hear.”
“Yeah, yeah~ But Masuzu won’t let me stay in her apartment.”
Mana pursed her lips. Though her face looked impatient, she secretly clenched her fists.
(Nice job, brother-in-law!)
(Not only did he handle this money-grubbing guy, but he also made him compromise on Masuzu. He’s truly a super-strong sister-complex guy who dares to mess with me!)
Thinking she’d have someone stronger above her to protect her, Mana couldn’t help but chuckle softly. She looked forward to showing off to her classmates.
“Mana, I need to get back to work now.”
Ryouji finished his coffee and stood. Hearing this, Mana waved without looking up.
“Oh, safe travels~”
“…Why so dismissive?”
“Ahem, ahem. Nothing. Let me walk you to the car, Yasuoka!”
“Understood, I’ll get the car.”
“One question, Mana. You don’t have a boyfriend or anyone you like right now, do you?”
“N-N-No way! What’re you talking about, Dad?! If I were to like someone, they’d need to be as strong as my brother-in-law!”
“That’s a high bar… Wait, something’s off…”
“Don’t sweat the small stuff, just go!”
Soon after, the Natsukawa father and daughter left Starbucks.
Without causing any ripples, Kyoto University’s campus returned to its usual calm.

Title: This Moonlit Night Will End Everything
Tonight is a full moon.
After spending the afternoon playing with the others, Yuu took plenty of photos of beautiful scenery for Sora, sparking her desire to go out and have fun.
The Kyoto trip was nearing its end. After tomorrow’s finals, Yuu and the others would take the train back to Tokyo, resuming their daily lives, not much different from usual.
Having finished soaking in the hot springs, Yuu strolled leisurely in the inn’s backyard, wearing a yukata.
The yukata provided by this hot spring inn was different from the plain white ones at hotels, which revealed nothing once the sash was removed. This one was thick, dark green, and somewhat resembled a traditional yukata. Though November’s temperature was low, as long as one wore clothes underneath and a scarf outside, it wasn’t too cold.
Of course, with Yuu’s current physical condition, even running naked outside wouldn’t make him shiver or fall ill. He could still feel cold and heat, but he was resistant to the cold and robust.
Still, unless necessary, he’d act like an ordinary person. If it was cold, he’d wear more clothes. If it was hot, he’d wear less. He didn’t want to stand out like a dazzling firework.
Because that would look silly.
The reason he wasn’t inside the inn at night and was instead in the outdoor garden, enjoying the breeze and the moon, was simple.
He was waiting for someone.
November 11th, 11 p.m. In the quiet backyard of the inn, he waited with Koike Kiyotsuki and the others.
*👡👡👡*
The sound of sandals stepping on grass was soft and delicate, like feathers tickling the eardrums.
Yuu pulled his gaze from the sky and turned around.
The girl’s silver hair blended with the moonlight, breathtakingly beautiful.
“Been waiting long?”
“Not long, as long as I don’t go back to sleep.”
“You’re quite the talker.”
Masuzu looked at him as he half-turned.
Perhaps, when someone falls in love, they get caught in an uncontrollable whirlwind.
She makes you cry, disappoints you, makes you suffer and feel confused—yet, when she stands there, you still walk toward her, holding her hand unconsciously.
Masuzu walked to his side, taking his arm. She gazed at the full moon at the edge of the night sky, her head gently resting on his shoulder.
“The moonlight is beautiful.”
Feeling her warm, jade-like body temperature, Yuu smiled. “Is that a love confession?”
“Who confesses like that? Idiot!” Masuzu scolded softly. But with her flushed face, it had no effect at all. “For me, the anti-love advocate, to confess my feelings verbally, you’d need a few hundred more years. So, go become an immortal vampire and come back!”
Yuu looked relaxed. “Then you can confess my feelings through a message. Or maybe telepathy works too. Words are just a medium. As long as our hearts are connected, that’s enough.”
“You’re so stubborn…” Masuzu sighed in resignation. “Why do you even like me?”
A cold breeze blew. As the girl instinctively shrugged, Yuu wrapped his arm around her shoulder, building a warm, sturdy fortress for her.
“Reasons? There are tons. I don’t know if I can list them all.”
Yuu showed a nostalgic expression. “First, you’re super pretty and have a great figure.”
“So shallow.” Masuzu critiqued, “But I like it.”
“Then, your personality’s bad. Like mine.”
“Who says that to their girlfriend?” Masuzu frowned. “But I like it.”
“Also, you lack common sense, have skewed views, a dark background, use any means necessary, seem strong but are weak inside, arrogant yet insecure…”
“Aren’t those all flaws?! Do you actually hate me?” Masuzu glared at him, her tone resentful. “But, I like it!”
“Hah… What I like most is how, as our fake relationship gradually turned real, your expression was so sweet.”
A smile curved his lips. Yuu held her, memories flashing through his mind.
Threatened into being a fake boyfriend, going home together for the first time, causing a stir at school, eating lunch together in the woods, meeting Natsukawa Mana after a blind date…
They’d been through many strange events together. During the autumn trip, he saw her heart change. He felt at ease when she leaned on him and acted spoiled, gradually realizing her place in his heart was growing more important.
The journey with Masuzu was like driving at high speed on a rocky road. The path was rough, the scenery not always beautiful. Yet, her wind-tousled, messy smile stayed etched in his mind.
The most beautiful sight was perhaps her gradual change. From a gloomy, twisted start to now being a naturally open, sometimes shy, sometimes bold girl.
Unknowingly, these shadows had filled his heart, making him unwilling to give up, unwilling to leave—if he left, who else would stay by Masuzu’s side but him?
Who would eat lunch with her when she was lonely? Who would carry her to bed when she was sick?
And who could handle her troublesome personality, quickly countering her selfishness or sudden jokes, making her show a satisfied, proud smile?
Only him.
In this world, only Yuu could be Masuzu’s boyfriend—so he couldn’t leave her, and she couldn’t leave him.
…But what was the point of reaching this conclusion?
“Yuu?”
After his sweet words, Yuu fell silent. Masuzu couldn’t help but look up, gazing at him in confusion.
His profile was strikingly handsome under the dim moonlight. Not too masculine or feminine—just perfectly attractive. Her heart felt deep comfort.
Though Masuzu had seen this face countless times, every time she did, her empty chest quickly filled with warmth. It was like a migratory bird finding its direction, or a winter snake finding its nest.
Masuzu carefully savored this feeling. She no longer ran or pretended not to see—perhaps this was also how she felt with her mother, right?
She’d almost forgotten. After all, it had been years since she saw her mother.
She unconsciously tightened her grip. Then she realized his hand supported her like a pillar, warding off all loneliness.
At a distance where even the wind couldn’t slip through, a burning, overflowing feeling gradually emerged.
(Thank goodness he’s by my side.)
She always thought her path was dark and lonely, used by her father as a tool and showpiece. So, no matter how twisted or lowly she was, it didn’t matter. Villains should look like villains. Sooner or later, she’d be destroyed by the protagonists’ light. So, she might as well do whatever she wanted while she could move.
And just like that, the scenery before her changed. In the quiet, lonely night, there was warmth like the sun shining on her.
Hah, it was like the ending of a beautiful fairy tale.
Her life, Natsukawa Masuzu’s, was supposed to be a dark fairy tale…
“Yuu, there’s something I want to tell you.”
Masuzu looked up, her eyes clear.
Under the moon, her smile seemed to glow.
“Same here. You go first.”
Yuu replied with a smile.
◆━⊰✧⊱━◆
They walked along a stone path, strolling by the edge of the ancient courtyard.
Under the cold breeze, everything was silent. Only the leaves whispered with the moon’s shadow. But by their side, it was like spring—no trace of cold could penetrate.
“My mother came from a Northern European country. They say she fell in love with my father, a Japanese businessman, at first sight. She came to Japan alone, despite her family’s disapproval.”
Masuzu recounted the story in a soft, flat tone. “The Natsukawa family was a wealthy, renowned family in the area. So my childhood was happy. I was always with my mother, never lacking food or clothes—but I don’t have many memories of my father.”
“My father really disliked children. Since I was little, I only remember seeing him talk to my mother and the servants from afar. It wasn’t until kindergarten that I realized others could go home with their dads, be carried on their shoulders, and have such good relationships with them.”
“But it didn’t matter, because I still had my mom. It was just a bit different from others… Then, not long after, my mom took me away from the Natsukawa family.”
Masuzu looked at her toes, a faint smile on her lips. “Though my world changed from a big mansion to a small apartment, I didn’t feel unhappy… Because as long as I was with my mom, it didn’t matter how things were.”
“Looking back, the time alone with my mom was truly wonderful. She loved Japanese JUMP. You must know her favorite work—the universal masterpiece, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. She’d read it to me with such enthusiasm, not even skipping sounds like gogogogogogo. It made me love JoJo more and adore the works that made her smile.”
“She always smiled brightly in front of me, but she cried where I couldn’t see.”
Sadness flickered in her eyes. Masuzu deftly hid these emotions, smiling at him.
“Then, when I was seven, my father finally came to our apartment—I still can’t forget it. He just said his name through the intercom. My mom jumped for joy like a child, spinning me around, her face full of excitement and happiness.”
“She still loved my father. If he could’ve reunited with her, maybe I wouldn’t have seen her cry secretly anymore. That would’ve been good.”
“Sadly, my father didn’t come for her. He only wanted me—to expand connections in Sweden, he needed a beautiful, obedient daughter to help him. As for my mom? She wasn’t needed, of course.”
“Of course, his words back then were very polished. He only said one day he’d bring her abroad to reunite us… But in reality, it was just a fabricated lie.”
Masuzu looked up, taking a deep breath toward the full moon, as if she wanted to shout to the sky, You bastard!, but she only gripped Yuu’s hand tightly, closed her eyes, and let him lead her forward.
Her sandals stepped on the stones. The streetlights among the grass stretched their side-by-side shadows, swaying faintly.
“My mom said, ‘Masuzu, you’ll be happier raised as a Natsukawa daughter, and I’ll join you soon, just wait there,’ but she never appeared before me again. Instead, there was a stepmother—the mother of that damn blonde pig.”
“I think she kind of likes you…” Yuu, who’d been silent for a long time, finally grumbled with a wry smile.
“Anyway, back then, I hated both of them. What I hated most was that hypocritical, cold-blooded man… Do you know what he said to me when I was only nine?”
Masuzu gave a cold smile. Her words felt like they could freeze.
“‘No matter what you think inside, I just want you to act like a harmonious family with me at this event. Why you, Masuzu? Because you’re beautiful like a gem.’”
“Bringing back the beautiful daughter of an ex-wife while maintaining a harmonious relationship with his new wife. A man like that would be praised and trusted in society. Don’t you think so?”
“—He openly revealed his intentions to me, a child.”
Seeing her expression still filled with hatred, Yuu fell silent.
He could lower himself to talk with a high schooler and say such cruel things with a smiling face… Natsukawa Ryouji was far more pragmatic than Yuu had imagined.
He wasn’t entirely evil. He was just a profit-driven businessman who saw his family as commodities—but that made him even more repulsive.
“You should’ve told me earlier,” Yuu sighed.
“Why?” Masuzu tilted her head, her silver hair flowing like a waterfall.
Yuu replied matter-of-factly, “So I’d have a reason to punch his face! As long as I said it was a family matter, I wouldn’t be banned from the match. I’m also sure no one else would’ve seen it.”
“…”
Masuzu froze for a moment, then happily rubbed her cheek against his arm. “Even if it’s just words, I’m already so happy.”
(I didn’t just say it. If you don’t believe me, ask your dear Sugou-san…)
(If he still remembers getting beaten up hard.)
Yuu didn’t voice those thoughts. He just quietly squeezed her hand, signaling her to continue.
“Of course, I firmly refused him. And at high-society parties, I kept striking JoJo poses with my back to everyone—then I was confined for a month. I wasn’t allowed downstairs, nor to send letters to my mom in Japan.”
“Then, Mana’s mother told me I had to use him, just like she did.”
“Those who exploit will always be exploited… So from then on, to see my mom, I followed my father’s words. I kept acting as the Natsukawa family’s gem, suppressing the Crazy Diamond that always wanted to burst out, becoming the perfect Natsukawa daughter.”
While speaking, she didn’t forget to joke. Masuzu gave a self-mocking smile. “Since then, I haven’t recognized myself.”
“Unlike here, my disguise abroad was flawless. No one could see the perverse, filthy soul behind the Young Lady’s facade. I used that identity to generate countless money and connections for the Natsukawa family.”
She looked at Yuu, her face resigned but also slightly calm. “But I don’t know why… My disguise with you never worked well.”
They walked to a stone bench. Yuu took out his handkerchief to wipe the dew off the seat. He sat beside her.
“My butt’s cold… Can I sit on your lap?”
“Sure…” Yuu turned to face her. Masuzu’s face flushed. The hem of her yukata lifted slightly, revealing her fair skin. “Don’t sit with your back to me. Sit sideways.”
“Why not…” Grumbling, like when they ate lunch at the stone pavilion, Masuzu sat on his lap in a princess-carry position.
She let out a lazy sigh, her head resting on his chest. “Alright, I’ll continue~ After that, since I didn’t receive letters from my mom or the JoJo volumes she secretly sent, I angrily confronted my dad. But he just gave evasive answers… So I decided to get close to the servants and secretly return to Japan, to the apartment I lived in with my mom. I wanted to see her again, but I didn’t expect everything to have changed.”
“The apartment was fancier, the rent was higher, and my mom was gone… But the JoJo volumes were still in the room. So I decided to stay and wait for her to return in that room.”
“Because she left a message for me—‘Read these volumes while waiting for me to come back,’ right? That must be it!”
Her voice was childlike, filled with stubborn, sincere hope. Her face glowed with a hopeful smile.
“From that day, I worked harder to be my father’s tool, so he’d see my value… Until September this year, I could finally return and live in that promised place. One day, I’ll surely reunite with my mom.”
Masuzu raised her hand. Her cold fingers gently touched his chin.
“Then I came to Sobu High and met you, met Dango-chan, met all of you.”
Her palm cupped his cheek. She squinted, smiling sincerely.
“Though I’m a cunning, despicable person, just thinking there are people as good as you all in this world makes me so happy… That alone is enough for me to keep living. Being with you and Dango-chan is definitely the best choice.”

Title: Pinocchio Won’t Have a Long Nose
Though she smiled, tears streamed from the corners of her eyes.
The tears were clear and transparent, like her eyes reflecting Yuu’s face.
“But you keep holding me tightly. You don’t let me feel inferior or retreat. You block my way out with your love confession… Why did you do that?! What am I supposed to do? How could I possibly accept your confession?”
As if explaining, yet also complaining, Masuzu lay in his arms, her voice trembling:
“Love is just a transaction. You give ten percent of your love, but you might only get five percent back. Worse, you give a hundred percent, but don’t even get one percent in return.”
“Once you give your love to the wrong person, you lose everything. When this balance can’t be maintained, love becomes a blind act… Yes, like my mother.”
She bit her lip hard. Her small hands clenched in front of his collar.
“Those involved often don’t realize it. They’re already sinking in mud, yet they keep thinking they’re happy.”
“They’ve failed, but still believe they’ve succeeded—that’s the scariest part of this transaction!”
That’s why, on that day, Masuzu said with disgust:
“Loving foolishly, making irresponsible promises, spending time with laughter that only brings temporary joy—it’s like drugs, religion, or a pyramid scheme luring people to fall—Hah! How ridiculous. Why would I accept that trash called love?”
“Let those who want to drown do so. But I politely refuse. Don’t try to force that fake beauty on me. It just makes me sick!”
Because she saw it with her own eyes, she hated it deeply.
Because she suffered so much, she rejected it fiercely.
“…How could someone like me, who thinks this way, accept your love confession?”
Her beautiful face looked utterly distraught.
Masuzu raised her red eyes, sniffling through her clogged nose. Her lips were swollen from biting. Only occasional sobs broke the silence.
“I don’t want you to leave. I don’t want to be apart from you. I want to be together forever, even if it means going to hell with you…”
“Why did you have to date me? Why did you deliberately say those words? Why did you force me to reject you? Why…”
As if something was stuck in her throat, she sobbed for a long time. Then, she wailed weakly:
“Why… did you have to love someone like me…”
Yuu closed his eyes and held her tighter.
Her soft, delicate body felt feverish. Masuzu trembled with intense emotions, rubbing against his clothes. Her broken sobs echoed in his ears.
But Yuu knew these weren’t tears of sadness.
More than regret or suffering, Masuzu was forcing herself to make a choice. She had to pull her feet from the nails embedded deep in the ground and step forward.
“No need to ask.”
Smiling, Yuu thought to himself.
(You can do it, Masuzu.)
(You can wear safety shorts for me. You can take the initiative to befriend Yui. You can also share everything from your past…)
(Stepping forward is easy for you, isn’t it?)
“Because I want you to love me more. I want you to stop showing that sad, hateful expression. I want you to stop always being alone…”
Resting his chin on her forehead, breathing in the scent of her hair, Yuu said with a smile:
“So, as payment for that transaction, I love you.”
Her sobs and trembling slowly stopped.
The sound of the wind suddenly became clear. Their breaths intertwined, blending with the bright, star-filled night.
Yuu let go of her hands. He stroked Masuzu’s head, speaking cheerfully:
“Love isn’t just a bundle of positive emotions. It’s a process of hurting each other, reconciling, and improving yourselves… There may be failed transactions, but there are also many successful ones. If you keep being afraid to touch it, how will you know what answer you’ll get?”
He lowered his head, lifting her chin to meet her beautiful, teary eyes, which had stopped crying. His gaze was earnest.
“Rather than regret doubting, it’s better to regret believing.”
“Masuzu, will you choose doubt or belief?”
“…”
Through her blurry vision, Masuzu stared at his face, so close to hers.
Doubt or belief?
Was there even a question? After seeing what happened to her mother, who would be foolish enough to believe in something as vague as love…
But she wanted to believe in him.
She wanted to believe Yuu would always be by her side.
She wanted to believe Yuu would always give her warm embraces.
She wanted to believe Yuu would always look at her with these gentle eyes.
She wanted to believe that when Yuu was at his loneliest and saddest, she’d rush to him and be his pillar.
These thoughts were so strong that even November’s cold wind couldn’t cool them. They spread rapidly from the depths of her heart, gradually strengthening her hands and feet.
“I…”
<No matter how deeply you were hurt in the past, there will always be someone who comes to make you forgive all the hardships of your life before.>
Masuzu bit her lip until it paled. But in her teary eyes, a light gradually emerged, and her expression grew stronger.
—Yui Yuigahama’s words flashed through her mind now.
(Why don’t you try acting according to your heart! After that, maybe you can name the feelings you have now.)
(So, what’s the name of this feeling?)
What was the name of this warmth filling her chest?
No longer empty, no longer lonely.
The thing born because of him seemed to be—
“I love you, Yuu.”
As the wind stopped, their lips met, their breaths drawing closer.
Under the moon, a joyful smile bloomed with love.
Like a delicate flower blooming under moonlight, romantic and pure, so beautiful it stopped the heart.
Yuu opened his eyes, not missing a second of this beauty.
The warmth from her lips filled his heart, making him feel once again—
Loving someone completely was such a joyful thing.
Yuu smiled. To not disturb the beauty of this moment, he slowly closed his eyes.
(I love you too, Masuzu.)

Title: Giving Rotten Dreams to the Mermaid
The kiss felt slow, but it was actually brief. After all, Masuzu couldn’t hold her breath for long.
“You need to practice your kissing technique more. Even if you can’t breathe while kissing, at least learn how to sneak a breath.”
Yuu let her go, a smile in his eyes.
“Do you think I’m learning to swim?” Masuzu glared at him. Her flushed, shy face was as beautiful as a flower. “Just you wait. I’ve prepared a box of cherries. I’ll show you the tongue technique I learned from Kakyoin!”
After saying that, her already flushed, fair face turned even redder. She could even feel the heat radiating from it.
“Making a girl say something like that. You really are trash, Yuu.”
“It’s called teasing, not being trash.” Yuu grinned. He pulled her back into his arms, gazing at the star-filled night sky.
Masuzu obediently leaned against his chest, savoring the feeling of being surrounded by his heartbeat and breath.
“Masuzu, how does it feel to start believing in love?” Yuu suddenly teased.
“What I believe in isn’t that, but you.” Masuzu said proudly. “Love without you has no value to believe in at all!”
“So stubborn…” Yuu smiled wryly. “Fine. You don’t have to believe in it at first. As long as I feel happy, it doesn’t matter if it’s love or not.”
(But thinking about it, since this task began, it’s been fifty days.)
(Seventeen years of loneliness, and fifty days of love… Is that why she keeps saying she wants to practice her tongue with cherries?)
(Even fate is playing a joke on her.)
“I think so too.” Masuzu responded to his earlier words. Her head rubbed against his clothes on his chest, letting out a soft, childish whine. “So, Yuu, if you leave me, I’ll go back to being the old me who hates love, you know~”
“Wouldn’t that be a waste?”
“Not just hating love, but hating people and life too.”
“That’s too heavy!”
“Hating smiles, hating happiness, and most of all, hating myself… Hating the me who loves you, hating the me who can’t keep deceiving myself.”
Yuu sighed in resignation. “This is such a precious moment. Don’t say things that ruin the mood.”
“I just want you to know how important you are to me.” Her voice came from his chest. Masuzu laughed proudly twice, like a mischievous demoness whose plan had succeeded. “I’m exploiting your guilt, putting shackles on you that you’ll never escape~ How’s that? This is Masuzu-san’s tactic!”
Beautiful and bold, cunning and lively. Whether genuine or not, Masuzu as a girlfriend never changed.
Yuu couldn’t help but laugh.
“That’s terrifying. You really don’t want me to leave you?”
“The moment you think about it, I’ll die, spiritually.” Masuzu suddenly stopped smiling, speaking seriously. “Masuzu is a troublesome and stubborn woman. Are you sure you want to date her? You can still back out now.”
“Idiot, it’s too late…” Yuu sighed silently. He placed his hand over her eyes, leaning close to her ear. In a soft voice, he said, “I’m sure. I won’t leave you.”
“Hehehe, good~”
Her serious expression crumbled instantly. Masuzu grinned foolishly, letting him hold her.
“Yuu?”
“I’m here.”
“I just remembered, didn’t you also have something you wanted to tell me?”
“That… I’ve already said most of it.” Yuu lowered his head, checking his watch. 11:55 p.m. Almost midnight. “The rest, let me think about how to say it to you.”
“Hm? You have things you can’t say either?”
Masuzu looked up in confusion, but her chest and chin blocked her view, so she couldn’t see his expression.
“Don’t tell me you’re cheating with Dango-chan?”
“Don’t be ridiculous. She’s my best friend.” Yuu gently tapped her head.
“She’s my best friend now too… Hmm, I need to change this habit. It’s not good to joke about friends.”
After muttering thoughtfully, Masuzu suddenly pulled two tickets from her pocket, quietly placing them in his palm.
“What’s this?” Yuu looked at the writing. They were couple’s tickets to an amusement park. The address was in West Tokyo, quite far from Chiba. “Amagi Brilliant Park… Isn’t that the amusement park that’s been trending lately?”
“You remember when you came to my place last time? I wanted to give you these tickets then, but I couldn’t say it.”
Masuzu lowered her head, sighing. Only her ears, peeking through her silver hair, turned red. “What could I do? It’s my first time asking someone out. I was scared you’d reject me with something like, We’re not a real couple, why go there…”
“Only you would say that.”
Seeing her adorable behavior, Yuu couldn’t help but laugh. He tucked the tickets into his pocket, storing them carefully.
“Alright. If you still remember this, we’ll go to the amusement park together.”
“You think I’d forget so easily? Don’t get cocky just because you’re ranked first.”
Her fingers pinched his firm thigh. Masuzu said irritably, “As long as I study seriously, getting first place in school is easy… No. Let’s both take first and second. That way, even if we show off our affection at school, no teacher will dare interfere!”
The topic shifted rapidly. Her beautiful, sapphire-like eyes sparkled as if she were planning how to make every teacher and student at school realize how deep their love was.
“Come on. Hiratsuka-sensei might just punch my face with her lemon fist.”
Yuu shook his head. He glanced at his watch—11:59 p.m.
Even if he could hold out until 6 a.m., what was the point with only six hours left?
It was enough to take her back to her room to sleep, but not enough to say goodbye to this world—to the beautiful world where he and this girl loved each other.
After tonight, he’d enter a world where he and this girl were strangers. Maybe he’d forget the regret and loss he felt now, like the two times before.
“Masuzu, listen to me.”
Yuu didn’t think further. He just hugged her again, not letting her see his expression.
Masuzu wasn’t suspicious. She only thought Yuu wanted to be affectionate again. She obediently pressed herself against him, letting their body heat clash and rise under November’s cold breeze.
The next moment…
“[If you live alone, you need to learn to cook. At least don’t just live off jelly—it’s unhealthy.]”
Yuu’s voice was clear and gentle, as if it wanted to echo in her heart. It carried a strange power that halted Masuzu’s thoughts.
Word Bullet—that’s what Yuu called it.
“…”
Masuzu froze for a moment. She instinctively tried to look up.
“Why…”
But her movement was gently restrained without pain. She felt stiffness and numbness in certain acupuncture points, leaving her powerless to resist.
“I’m sorry. This is the last time, Masuzu.”
Undeniable words came from Yuu’s mouth.
“[Listen to me until I’m done.]”
As if her vocal cords were choked, Masuzu could only listen to the gentle yet cruel voice piercing her heart, word by word.
“[Always be confident and proud. Being troublesome is part of your charm. Find friends who suit you.]”
“[There are also family members who care about you. Get to know them well. Don’t be bound by awkward personalities.]”
“[It’s okay not to believe in love, but please believe in your own heart. Don’t take the long, winding path anymore.]”
“[Also, girls should be cautious. Besides remembering to wear safety shorts, don’t let guys who aren’t your real boyfriend into your home.]”
“[Don’t look for fake boyfriends anymore. In this world, there’s no one as gentle as me, who’s always too soft to take your virginity.]”
Yuu spoke slowly, like the clock’s hands moving toward midnight.
He knew how panicked Masuzu was right now. He also knew her heart, which should have been happy, was now filled with anxiety.
Her struggles in his arms grew stronger. He could faintly hear her whimpering breaths, but they were all suppressed in his cold embrace.
Even so, in this final minute, Yuu chose to hurt her.
Just this once. Never again.
He continued:
“[May you one day become strong enough to not need anyone’s protection and no longer cry.]”
“[May you learn gentleness and smile at everyone.]”
“[May you see all gains and losses lightly and not overthink them.]”
“[May you learn to be brave and no longer be afraid.]”
“[May you eventually soar high and no longer worry.]”
“[May the rest of your life be peaceful and happy, even if…]”
(…you’re alone.)
Yuu smiled and shook his head. He didn’t want Masuzu to be lonely.
That kind of feeling, even he couldn’t bear it. How could fragile Masuzu find peace and happiness in it?
Yuu took a deep breath and looked up at the moonlit night sky.
The moonlight didn’t shine on him, didn’t reflect in his eyes. Only the dark sky filled his slightly blurred vision, creating a momentary double image.
Yuu gritted his teeth. His cheeks trembled.
“This is the third time. Why can’t I get used to it… This final part, I can’t be weak!”
Yuu told himself.
(In front of someone important, even if it’s just pretending, I’ll be their hero.)
(The most perfect, mature hero, who can even fool himself.)
—Clear Mind Like a Mirror Technique.
His boiling emotions receded like the tide.
A smile returned to the corner of his lips. Yuu lowered his head and released her body.
As her strength returned, Masuzu pushed him away forcefully. Her red eyes looked up in disbelief. Her bloodied lips parted.
“Yuu—”
“[I’m not here.]”
Before her voice fully faded, Yuu showed the brightest, gentlest smile. He looked into her eyes and said softly:
“[So, you have to take good care of yourself.]”
November 11th, 11:59:59 p.m.
As the hour and minute hands aligned, Cinderella would shed her glass slipper, and the magic of happiness would vanish.
His gaze calmed. Yuu thought to himself.
(System, settle the task.)
The next moment.
Masuzu and her tears froze in a gray-tinted world. The night seemed to fall from above, enveloping him completely.
The edges of his vision were quickly consumed by darkness. Yuu only closed his eyes, unwilling to see the vanishing world or the expression on her face, so close, that made his chest ache.
…And so, everything would end.
Before his consciousness blurred, Yuu murmured unconsciously:
“I’m glad I could love you. Thank you for these beautiful memories.”
(She can’t hear it, can she?)
(Oh well, it’s fine.)
(Because this final minute, after all, can’t be considered a beautiful memory.)
◆━⊰✧⊱━◆
With his eyes closed, Yuu didn’t notice that in this utterly silent world, only one object flew out from his yukata.
The dark green talisman floated in the air. As if an invisible flame burned beneath it, it slowly turned black from the bottom, crumbling into charred fragments that scattered. Finally, those fragments vanished into boundless nothingness.
Only the bright red character for “Misfortune” continued to emit a dazzling red glow until the end. It illuminated Yuu’s sleeping face and Masuzu’s empty eyes.
Perhaps it lasted only a second, or maybe longer.
As time began to shift, the Talisman of Misfortune completely vanished from this world, as if it had never existed.
◆━⊰✧⊱━◆
“…A familiar sky.”
Slowly opening his eyes, Yuu lay on the cold ground. He sighed weakly.
How many times had he come to this world?
Since it was an unimportant question, he was too lazy to count. He only knew he was very familiar with this place, yet there were differences he hadn’t noticed last time.
He looked up, gazing at the two suns. Their light was bright, but he felt no pain.
In this empty world, there were things called Light Orbs.
They dispelled the silence of the gray sky, spreading warm light and rain over the cold, desolate ruins. Compared to before, this place was indeed much livelier.
The Sun Light Orb, a gift from Yukinoshita Haruno, filled the world with beautiful sunlight.
The Rain Light Orb, Yuuki Asuna’s feelings, filled the world with gentle rain.
“Do I have to keep coming back here…”
The thought suddenly crossed his mind. He even found it amusing.
He wasn’t their child. Things like Dragon Balls could just be left here. If he returned, he’d have to give up one of his single-use abilities—such a loss.
Thinking this, Yuu felt inexplicably happy.
It was like coming home after working hard out there for a long time, with someone waiting at the door. Seeing them, his tired, heavy face would slowly break into a smile.
After all, this was proof he’d once worked hard.
“…But that’s just my imagination.”
Though light and rain mingled, and warm drizzle fell, Yuu felt the two light orbs above were competing. As if they wanted to split the entire sky in two, it made him shiver twice.
(Competing for what? You’re both my rewards. You should live harmoniously and work together to create a beautiful scene for this barren world!)
(This isn’t about stealing a man!)
He pulled his gaze back with a strange expression. He lowered his head and saw a screen not far away.
“…”
After a moment of shock, his relaxed expression vanished completely. He said nothing, only quietly hugging his left leg, pressing his forehead to his knee.
He let his shoulders slump. The light and rain couldn’t reach his face, hidden in the shadows.
