Title: Divine Treasures and Clairvoyance

Ethan could even sense the joy and delight in Vanir’s tone, which made him feel a little sorry for the so-called Devil King. With two of his subordinates wanting to resign, he wondered just how deep the psychological shadow looming over the Devil King must be right now.

“Now, the one you see before you is no longer a Devil King’s General, just an employee of this shop.”

As Vanir’s words fell, Wiz also smiled happily.

“I was surprised too when Vanir showed up at the shop, but I’ve known him since our adventurer days. It’s really nice to have him as an employee.”

This made Eris press a hand to her forehead, as if she had a headache—her worldview as a goddess was being shaken: “A Lich running a shop was already struggling to avoid starvation, and now an Archdemon is working as an employee? What in the world is going on?”

“Chris, isn’t this good? At least Vanir isn’t our enemy anymore!” Yunyun chimed in cheerfully, relieved they wouldn’t have to fight.

“Sister Yunyun is right! And Vanir actually owes me a favor! If not for him, I might not have decided to join Onii-sama’s team!” Iris declared, dropping yet another bombshell.

Fortunately, Ethan had already explained this to Eris and Yunyun some time ago—otherwise, everyone present would’ve been stunned. How could a demon just waltz into the capital, kidnap a princess, and do it all to help someone else find a partner? Who would believe such a story?

“And, as payment for being allowed to live peacefully in this town, I’ll give you these two little toys!” Vanir tossed two objects toward Ethan, who raised an eyebrow before catching them.

The first to react was Eris!

“This?! Could it be… Divine Treasures?!”

Indeed! They were Divine Treasures! Just like Ethan’s Cursed Sword Gram or Iris’s Holy Sword, these were Divine Treasures—but the two Vanir had thrown were different.

One was a simple-looking necklace, the kind you could buy at any small shop, yet it radiated an intense divine aura.

The other was a small box resembling a music box, though both Ethan and Eris could sense a strange, sinister energy emanating from within.

“That necklace is a Divine Treasure for body-swapping, and that little box is a monster-summoning Divine Treasure? Why would a demon like you have these?!”

This was Eris’s question. As a goddess, one of her duties was ensuring Divine Treasures didn’t fall into the hands of evil individuals like Alderp. She was supposed to retrieve lost Divine Treasures from the human world and redistribute them to reincarnated heroes as tools to survive and fight the Devil King’s army.

So how did Divine Treasures meant to oppose the Devil King end up in a demon’s hands? No wonder Eris was shocked.

“Don’t misunderstand. I took them from that foolish human. Consider them a protection fee for you, the newly appointed ruler—since I know you have an unusual connection to Divine Treasures...”

That “foolish human” obviously referred to Alderp, and the “new ruler” was, of course, Ethan. Unsurprising for the All-Seeing Demon, he had already deduced that Ethan had taken Mitsurugi Kyouya’s Divine Treasure and even absorbed the Mobile Fortress Destroyer.

He likely stole these two Divine Treasures from Alderp, knowing through his Clairvoyance that they would be useful bargaining chips with Ethan…

Though using Divine Treasures to barter for a part-time job in a starter village shop was a bit comical…

“Well then, I won’t refuse.” Ethan examined the two Divine Treasures carefully. For now, he wasn’t sure how they’d be useful, but they were still Divine Treasures, right? Better to keep them—they might come in handy someday.

Eris didn’t object either. Retrieving lost Divine Treasures was always a good thing, though if she hadn’t descended to this world, she would’ve taken them back to heaven to distribute among reincarnated heroes.

But things were different now. As Ethan’s close friend and companion, she naturally wanted him to grow stronger. Compared to the odd reincarnators Aqua kept summoning, it was far better for Ethan to have them.

Emotionally and logically, letting Ethan keep these Divine Treasures was the best choice. Eris just didn’t realize how much she’d changed—once rigid, righteous, and dutiful, she now acted like a lovestruck girl spoiling her boyfriend.

The All-Seeing Demon, Vanir noticed but said nothing. Instead, he continued:

“And, new ruler… I sense a power similar to mine within you.”

A similar power?! Everyone present was shocked again, and Ethan racked his brain.

If it wasn’t demonic power, then the only thing resembling Vanir’s ability was—Clairvoyance!

But Ethan’s Clairvoyance from his Archer Class was nothing like Vanir’s. An Archer’s Clairvoyance was just enhanced vision—eagle-eyed sight and night vision. Vanir’s Clairvoyance, however, was the power of foresight, allowing him to perceive the past, present, and future!

It was the Eyes of Fate, capable of observing the flow of the world itself!

Even the gods feared this terrifying ability!

And now Vanir claimed Ethan possessed something similar—how could anyone not be stunned?

Ethan didn’t hide it either. He explained his own precognitive experiences to Vanir (though wisely omitting the part where he learned about Eris’s “padding” under her murderous glare.

“I see. Compared to my Clairvoyance, yours seems highly unstable—like you haven’t fully mastered it yet. And it appears fundamentally different from mine...”

“Given how often you buy defective magic items from this odd little shop, single-handedly keeping this spendthrift owner afloat, I’ll give you some advice...”

”If my Clairvoyance is the Eyes of Fate that see past, present, and future…”

”Then yours is the Eyes that See the True Essence of the World—in the most literal sense!”
