Hey everyone!!

We wanted to surprise everyone with this amazing track! YouTube said: Thou shall not pass!! It was immediately Blocked in all countries by the record company. I am sure Donald doesn't even know this.

We are so happy we can share it here, we are trying to dispute it on YouTube but we also didn't pause. Lets see what happens.

For now guys can enjoy it here!!!!

With love,

Hi guys, you abviously won your dispute with u.t as I have seen this on u.t, but it's so good I just decided to watch this all over again. Great reaction ! Byeee Jim X

The second song on this album (“Countermoon”) is a real banger, too.

Apropos of nothing, perhaps: "Katy Lied" has a picture of a katydid insect on the cover, and "kamakiri" is Japanese for "katydid".

"Lucky Henry" and "Junkie Girl" are two of my favorites from Walter’s solo work.

It was inevitable that Nick ‘n’ Lex would love this song! So much fun to watch you reacting to it. Walter — always underrated as an instrumentalist — provides the bass groove and produced the album, so this is as close to a SD album as you can get without full songwriting credit to him.

Dan L.

You are correct.

Since you’ve only listened to Donald Fagen solo work it makes sense that you’d think that the Steely Dan sound was predominantly Fagen, but once you listen to Walter Becker’s solo work you’ll hear his contributions immediately. I don’t know this for a fact, but just from listening to and comparing their solo albums it seems that Walter was probably probably responsible for some of the harder rock sounds and darker/snarkier themes.

I’m so glad I’m a part of the Familia - wouldn’t want to miss any of this Funk. With this album, my strategy is: Hit PLAY and then dance around the kitchen making dinner, occasionally belting out, “I keep drifting back to your Florida Room.” Its one huge serving of syncopated Funk with horns, solos, and smooth backing vocals, most tracks covered and smothered with plenty of CHEESE. 🧀🫠 Hope you’re not Dairy Dan-intolerant. Hehe ✨😉

Nick & Lex, my first chance to see you do something Steely dan related on Patreon - i couldn't be any happier. You mentioned about 40 more songs to go, but, you haven't hit Centuries End yet. And there is the Early Work to explore. Stone Piano, Let George Do It, Yellow Peril, Mock Turtle Song - and the list goes on and on. Becker produced a band called China Crisis - "Hands on the Wheel" is a great place to start. SO MUCH GREATNESS, and i get to go along for the ride down the Trans Island Skyway with you. Ken

Great reaction as always! There’s a reason why this sounds a lot like Steely Dan and it’s because Walter Becker produced the album as well as played bass and guitar on all the tracks. The whole album is great there are a couple of music videos one for snowbound and one for tomorrow’s girls. When you decide to get into the Walter Becker collection I’m the one who sent you the 11 Tracks of Whack CD and I would just advise you to go Lexi style and start with the first song. Down in the bottom is the leading track. Another favorite on the album is Surf and/Or Die which is about a event that happened when Walter lived in Hawaii. There are some great guitar solos on the album as well as great bass mostly Walter on vase and a lot of guitar. There’s some cool reggae grooves can’t wait to hear which one you pick. Another thing to remember is when you hear steely Dan it’s Donald Fagen singing other than one song sung by Walter Becker. So when you listen to Walter it won’t sound like Steely Dan because it won’t have Donald singing. I think a lot of people don’t hear Donald and they just don’t think it’s as good. I don’t think it’s better but I think it’s unique and it’s good all the same elements of Steely Dan it just doesn’t have Donald’s voice. I’ve always been a huge Walter Becker fan and think he was the person that added the edge to Steely Dan so I have a soft spot for him and it took a little while to Adjust to not having Donald’s voice. I think some people don’t give it enough of a listen to grasp the songs I think you’ll like it look forward to more of everything.👍😍👍😎

Love this whole album and knew you would too! I appreciate you guys holding back so we can watch your reactions- it's exciting for us, and for me, almost as good as my first time because I don't generally listen on headphones. I don't think I could hold back, so THANK YOU!! I would suggest reacting to the tracks in order, the way Donald envisioned the song cycle. Enjoy the trip! 🎵❤️🎵
