First panda I'm commissioned to draw! and this lovely lady has some extra juice 🌸 Drawing diferent body types is a MUST in the artists to-do list, but gosh is it hard at times! It is now that there are more references online with bigger bodies, but back when I started drawing is was way more dificult, and "big" meant just a little thicker, not actually big!
I don't have bigger bodies perfectly under control, but I'm not unfamiliar with them. This is not the case, tho. She just has a bigger body, but she's not chubby. She's also strong and you could see some muscles on her ref! I however ended up giving her a little chub on accident... But then i thought she looked very pretty?? Sometimes I struggle to understand the diference between just big and chubby :/ not inpaper, I mean from a drawing POV...
Client is happy and I'm satisfied so everyone wins!

Yeah Im starting to see that too! I guess im the art world since its easier to draw muscles or desired because it takes a lot of effort to archive, im used to seeing it, but it is true that the people I know who are strong have fat around it, so its not obvious 🌸 I actually really like the look of it!

2025-06-17 20:03:18 +0000 UTCTo be fair, the no-fat look is something bodybuilders go out of their way to cultivate and it requires cultivating really specific honestly unhealthy eating habits. Most people who are strong because they do a lot of heavy lifting and hard work have big, burly, even fat-looking builds because that's just what happens when you have a normal amount of body fat over a lot of muscle. She looks real mighty to me!
