Naturalis v1.1-alpha4 release

I did some testing in VR, and created a 1min video about it. You can check it out on my Twitter: https://twitter.com/everlasterVR/status/1663181884543717379

VaM version requirement

v1.1 requires VaM version 1.20.77.13 or newer. This is due to the Naturalis.cs script which autoloads the DLL using methods that aren't available in older versions. If you're on v1.20.x, you can update to 1.20.77.13 without requiring a new key from MeshedVR's Patreon. However I would recommend upgrading to 1.22 anyway. It requires a new key (same key as 1.21): https://www.patreon.com/meshedvr/posts?filters[tag]=Keys

Updating to 1.20.77.13 from 1.20.x

Run VaM_Updater.exe in the VaM directory, select Options and select the desired version, then click Sync / Repair Core:

Alpha 4 update notes

In summary, this version adds new Right/Left Spring and Right/Left Damper parameters to TittyMagic, focuses on nailing down the breast physics defaults and gravity physics, fixes some bugs, and does some changes to breast morphing and colliders as well.

These changes are mostly tested with Local Distortion Physics disabled. I would recommend disabling LDP until I've optimized the physics for LDP. Currently (and in v1.0 as well) the LDP defaults are a bit too rigid, and don't look too good on max softness breasts.

Right/Left Spring & Damper

By default in VAM, the pectoral joint cannot move vertically or sideways, it can only rotate. The right-left movement is now unlocked and noticeably improves the way that breasts jiggle left and right as they hang from the chest. The plugin calculates a very high spring and damper for breasts that are small or low in softness, while larger and softer breasts get spring and damper values which enable noticeable sideways movement.

When leaning to the side, the spring increases sharply to prevent oscillating the joint parallel to gravity (would look bad and mess up the sideways breast shape).

Unlocking the joint's vertical movement didn't improve the physical behaviour (it might still turn out to be useful in the future though), so for now the joint can only rotate vertically.

The original Spring and Damper parameters have been renamed to Rotation Spring and Rotation Damper.

The Right/Left spring and damper are only available in TittyMagic. For some reason, they didn't have any noticeable effect when enabled for the glute joint. Maybe I did something wrong, either way it needs testing before it makes sense to unlock and expose the sideways movement parameters.

Changes to breast physics, morphing and colliders

A note on presets and new default behaviour

I understand that changing the defaults means that your multiplier and offset values  produce a somewhat different result, and that presets made in v1.0 (or earlier v1.1 alphas for that matter) won't necessarily work the way you intended when loaded in the newest version. However, it's necessary to keep improving the default behaviour. Besides that, often changes are required simply because of introducing new features or changing existing functionalities - in v1.1 the biggest ones are the custom gravity implementation and the right/left spring and damper which introduce the need to change other parameter values as well.

When v1.1 is closer to release ready (still a ways a way) I'll look into whether some parameters should be translated from v1.0 to v1.1 when a preset is loaded or when the plugin is auto-updated using Naturalis.cs. It's probably too complicated or impossible to do any kind of mapping that actually preserves the identical behavior though.

Fixes & Other

_______

I hope you like the default behavior in this version!

Next, back to implementing the clothing adjustment profiles.

Also, I want to improve the forward leaning shape for large breasts - there's a very good morph in the free Tenstrip morph pack that I didn't notice until a while ago. A quick test when combined with the current morphs and with reduced Breast Pointed morph:

[Model: Raya by xxxa (patreon) but with large breasts, hair: short4 by ddaamm CC BY]

I wish I had picked up on that much sooner, it looks so much better than the current shape! Just need to split it in two in Blender so it can be applied independently for each breast, and figure out how the other forward morphs that are used should combine with it.

Good to know!

A recent addition on the hub from the user qdaro has nice "torpedo" morphs, they also look very good with your plugin, imho.

I can confirm this version is another step up and awesome. Everything seems to work as it should.
