BD - Chapter 136 - Securing Bee-ceful Relations (Removed for KU)

Author’s Notes:

Ok, finally got the silly non-bee stuff out of the way. That was a lot of time for stuff that’s definitely not important. Now the silly non-bees can go home and we can get back to bees, finally!

Although, I guess King Ratuatapi’s not so bad. Aphids are ok now, particularly since bees like them. Saw on Planet Earth there’s at least one bee species that does the aphid thing that ants normally do, though with treehoppers instead, so aphid ranching is in fact a bee-like activity. So, you know, I guess we’ll tolerate the non-bees as long as they bring honeydew to offer the bees.

Anyways!

Will Belissar and King Ratuatapi maintain a peaceful and prosperous relationship? Will Belissar secure the honeydew supplies for the bees? Was any of that silly non-bee stuff actually important? Tune in next time, to find out!

Calling it subjugated is maybe little too much, but they transitioned from refuge to infinite house arrest.

I have a theory. I have a theory that King Ratuatapi just loves farming aphids. I have a theory that if he had been a tower Lord, we would be reading a story about an Aphid Tower. I have a theory that these two are *exactly* the same.

Bryan

Hm. I wonder if part whole "tower lord shall not make his presence known in inside kings territory whit out permission." Is attempting to stop MC using his consciousness scouting theyry territory. After-all if he can sent small "semi intelligent mosters" whit good sensory organs to walk trought while he him self build map form that. Would be big disadvantaged if theyry ever come to blows. But since MC has thous conetions bees it's actually not that big of deal... if not there's is placse he need to go to get that is ohters side off that territory...

Politic is never black or white, but if you dig a little it woudn't suprise me if south africa put a lot of pressure on Lesotho so that it comply with it's interest. Powerfull neighbors might not outright subject you but you can't act as if they don't exist either

nicolas

By that logic, Lesotho is subjugated by S.A.

BelligerentGnu

Agreed. Maybe as a gift for saving the kings life somehow, or maybe lending the services of his Gardners. They are such a massive help with growing anything that I could see them being a massive trade good. Lol.

Fernando Oliveira

I hope Belissar will suceed in buying a breeding pair of aphids. But it should be for something equaly valuable so maybe it will take some time

nicolas

In the long term, she is not wrong. Belissar will only grow in power from there, while they will stay the same. With sufficient time, Belissar territory will encircle their's and they won't be able to go outside without his permission.

nicolas

Thanks for the chapter. Loved it. Nice to see peace between non-bees. Lol. I doubt the sigmaka will just give belissar a breeding pair of aphids but they're equally unlikely of getting any bees is at least trade will be profitable for both. The sigmaka are also more established. They should be able to tell belissar and the karnuq about any other potential neighbors and potential enemies. We're also due for that human raiding party. Would be funny if they attacked while the sigmaka were getting ready to leave, would let them see exactly how effective the bee army is. Those human are so screwed. Lol. I do think belissar and rautautapi will end up friends, they're both powerful leaders with a love for two similar insects.

Fernando Oliveira

Seems that Belissar found another leader that's just like him : young and totaly inexperienced, but who love some type of insect ^^

nicolas

Subjugated? By a completely symmetrical deal? Lady, get a grip.

BelligerentGnu

Emergency purification!!
