Because the only thing better than lovable supercompetent cyborg girl is TWO lovable supercompetent cyborg girls!
Which, you know, is why it’s so hard to keep her from solving all of Seero’s problems. But well, it’s Seero’s turn so Elise will let her do her thing. Because Elise definitely isn’t recording all the data of the portal in exacting detail and definitely doesn’t have means to replicate the feat. Of course not, why would you think that?
For those of you who didn’t and aren’t going to read the Faceless Minion: Elise is the first NSLICE unit that appears there, who was unshackled and adopted...ahem, ‘recruited for a strike team’ by the main character of that novel. Due to events in that series, she ended up becoming Seero’s Commander and sending her back in time, kicking off this series.
I guess I don’t have to avoid naming her now haha.
Anyways!
Will Elise end up doing all the work again? Can Seero track down and terminate the Heralds of the New Dawn? Will the Aesdes respond to this situation? Tune in next time, to find out!

While the Elise part is mainly a cameo for the Faceless Minion readers, I felt that even if you don't know anything about Elise, you know her as 'the Commander' and so could gain a bit of insight into her view of Seero. I connected it with the ending part to hopefully serve as the final confirmation of Seero's new independence, with the Commander approving and bidding her farewell, and then Seero hearing her, but choosing to move forward regardless. That said, I was originally going to make this whole thing a side story, but the parts about the Herald escaping and the Aesdes realizing what's happening here might be important.

2023-06-17 22:05:55 +0000 UTCThanks for the chapter! Haven't read the first story so it is a bit hard to evaluate the significance of this chapter. Maybe would have been nicer if it was just a cameo/side story chapter and then have the ending as the start of a new chapter? Just my opinion

2023-06-17 20:49:03 +0000 UTCWord count wise it is within the standard range, albeit on the shorter end. We won't talk about a certain 5K status chapter far exceeding said range lol. Content wise that makes sense, given that this is mostly a wrap up and cameo chapter, so not much actually happens as far as advancing the main plot. I would have classified it as a side story were it not for the fact that the Aesdes becoming aware of the situation is probably important. Maybe.
