Howdy doodly doo! How's it going?

It's been a while since our last update post - so with things starting to settle into a rhythm in RoD-Land and no Patreon exclusive episode today, we figured it was time to smarten you lovely lot up. Lots to get through so we'll try and make this as concise as possible.

This morning/evening/anywhen, Matt and Billy recorded their first mainline episode of RoD since Big Bill's Big Move to New Zealand and it went fabulously. Once all the technical faff was dealt with on the Bristol side of things (thanks to Matt, Annie, and regular-Rod/Yogs-tech, TJ) things went without a hitch. Annoyingly, with Billy's camera gear on a container ship somewhere between Sydney and Auckland, it was a webcam jobby for this first record. That, along with a myriad of other things, like the set and recording settings, will change and will get better.

It's a learning curve that the boys are eager to overcome so the pod looks and sounds as good as ever. Everything is in a state of flux between camera, sound and set design, so it might take a while for things to finally settle. The same goes for Matt's end of the recording, as he may end up migrating out of YogTowers altogether. While Billy can roll out of bed at the crack of dawn and straight onto a Zoom, for Matt it's a coda to a long working day getting down to the studio and setting everything up. That doesn't mean the studio is going away forever or will disappear at all - everything is up for debate as we find the best way forward.

Dave Burgess' work on the new title sequence, album cover art and other graphics continues apace and we're getting close to a finished product. We'll share all the info and the process of putting it together once Matt and Billy have signed off on things.

So that's 'The Five Doctors' done and dusted! Here's how the schedule is looking at the moment (*Patreon only);

Annoyingly, coms between RoD and Kevin Jon Davies have gone cold, so while we will still work towards getting him involved for Ep55, let us know what else you might want to see for that episode. As we get closer to the 60th Anniversary specials and filming for Series 14 continues, we're sure there will be plenty of news to cover so it might be worth using that episode to catch-up on everything?

'The Ghosts of N-Space' is also likely to be our last throwback audio review for a while, just so we keep things fresh and don't bog ourselves down in SIX-PART AUDIO DRAMAS ARG! The Once and Future critiques will continue right through the 60th Anniversary year and we are still reviewing 'Zagreus' later down the line. Shakedown: Return of the Sontarans and a commentary for More Than 30 Years in the TARDIS are both in the pipeline - so what other things do you guys want to see here on Patreon besides the semi-regular Q&As? Billy experimented with the Watchalong feature on the RoD Discord the other day, and while that didn't work because his internet is rubbish, we may hop onto voice chats more regularly if people fancy that?

Anyway, as ever, thank you all for supporting the podcast. It is keeping the lights on in Auckland and ensuring the show continues to be made to a high standard. It is our favourite thing to do and we want to do it forever. Thanks for flying that Purple and Lime flag on your social media and thanks for being the best listeners/viewers this side of Pease Pottage!

Oh and happy Pride Month!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

All the best,

- RoD 💜💚
