Leon alt design

Hm, which sash do you guys think better fit Leon? It will be introduced in scene 11!

Also, more updates on my current situation. In the short term, I need to focus on making money to pay for my bills, I'm still a few hundreds short, so I will get more commissions and get the expenses dealt with first. Then, I will be able to work more on the comic~

I've always wondered what it's like behind the scenes of a comic this large. Best wishes on the planning bearing fruit!

Blahman2816

I totally agree with Totodice. It's really nice to be able to help and be more involved with the you, the comic, and sly.

Jetty~

Your welcome! I hope that it was helpful. It means a lot that you are ok with asking us about it so I hope that we didn't go overboard or disappoint you or Sly. :3

Cres

Hm, we've talk about it more about how to take care of the book and we may just scrap it for this scene and move it to somewhere further along the plot. Thanks so much though with all the feedback!

Tales of Elysium

Confirmed Argo crash not happening in Volume 1!

Oh, I have another idea! Maybe with the backpack, have it positioned so that Leon can grab the book by reaching his paws up over his head. That way Leon can access it and put it away easily, but his arms are free for combat and action. The way you have it designed now would kinda make it locked in place upon his back by using straps, which is fine. But if he needs to access it by reaching over his head, would something like the design of the side-satchel (the bag that has a strap and opens from the top) be able to work if it's placed on the back instead? Would that work?

Blahman2816

@ToE Putting it on the back does make it less limiting, and I assumed there would be more action(I mean...who didn't right xD) So I am in favor of the back, but based on what Leon would want...he'd probably put to the side to keep watch of the book. Maybe as a fun "nod" He could put it to the side and than have the inconvenience mentioned to him and he switches it. Not a big add on, and more a small nod to each opinion. *EDIT* My apologies, adding in suggestions and stuff that I shouldn't be. If you both like the idea go ahead and use it, if I offended in any way with even suggesting it than I apologize. I wanted to finish that with all I typed, I'm still in favor of the back, Leon just seems more likely to put it to the side.

//IDEA!// Leon, or whoever makes it, can totally get the idea for middle designed from Miranda sash since they are pretty much the same shape. Oooo, another idea, the book could show Miranda's sash and maybe a few other things and then Leon can figure it out and make the harness thing from there. Oops >~< I'm back seat writing again, sorry.

It all really depends on how the straps are situated, but yea, being a Lucario would make it much easier to secure it to his side.

Jetty~

It still doesn't really help though since Leon is so small and the book is huge and thick... If Leon is a Lucario, that would be another story.

Tales of Elysium

*Wonders if any of the new starters will make an appearance in the comic... Nah just Hoothoot*

Jetty~

On a side note, if the book has a strap connecting it to his thigh that would make it much easier to move around without the book freely swinging about.

Jetty~

Personally, I lean more to the book on the back because Leon and Vagus will be on Argo for quite a long time and surprise surprise, there will be action involved sooner or later... I think putting the book on the back would make it less limiting for Leon to move around and do stuff? I'm not sure hm.

Tales of Elysium

I am more in favor of having it at Leon's side, but I think this actually depends on what hand dominance Leon is. If Leon is LHD, then it'd be better to have the pouch on his right side so his dominant arm is not obscured by an object. Same deal with if he's RHD. Right now it looks like Leon is LHD according to your sketch, but I can't remember off the top of my head what you two gave him as a character. Just some food for thought!

Blahman2816

Agreed. No doubt that it being to the side allows him to keep track of it better, but having it on the side means its more in the way. I suppose it comes down to...how much action is Leon gonna be getting in? Having it the side means more efdort in terms of moving around, dodging, ect. And with it at the side like that...means the chances of it coming off if you move around a lot increase by comparison to the back, where you can move around a lot and it shouldn't fall off. Of course the problem then comes from the fact that if it does come loose on the back...catching it is a lot harder. Both are valid options. For Leon... (I cant locate the mini comic T_T) I think side. He wont be fighting as much as Vagus (I think) and for him it means keeping better track of the book. Its less economical sure...but in the said scenario...side makes more sense for him.

Cres

Typically when you have something that is very precious to you, on you, you psychologically want to keep it as close to your hands(paws) as possible.

Jetty~

I agree. I think this should be looked at from Leon's situation. The book would be out of his way for when he's moving his arms if it's behind him. Although, I would imagine Leon would want to keep an eye on it at all times for the side might be best.

zaffre-lucario

Well, it does make for a good emergency weapon or surprise attack. Just ask Olly xD And yeah, the book to the side might be more secure, but it could also be more in the way like that as well. Kinda hard to carry the book around that's half your height without it being a bit intrusive. The back seems more economical, but less secure.

Cres

Ah ok then, that's understandable. If I have the money and you don't mind doing them I might look into one. But on the sash...hmm...i'll have to get back to you. I want to take a look at the berry picking mini comic to get an idea of what would be a better fit. For now though, I like the first option. The one with the book on his back and the pouch to the side. :3

Cres

I feel as if the one where the book is on his back would look the best and be the better aesthetic, but from Leon's perspective I wouldn't see him keep it on his back, out of reach. I'd imagine Leon would want to keep it by his side where it is easily accessible for hitting people in the face with. That's what I deduced from my psychology classes. ^-^
