Such a fun movie! I saw it so many times in the theater back in the day. By the way, John Travolta was a superstar before this movie. He had done Saturday Night Fever the year before, which was a massive film - a cultural touchstone. Itβs kinda crazy that itβs not better known these days.
Olivia Newton-John was a very popular singer at the time, as well. The rest of the cast were relatively unknown. Stockard Channing (Rizzo) became an overnight star. Sadly, she actually had a hard time getting work for a long time after Grease because no one could picture her in another role. She mostly worked on Broadway for years. Then, 20 years later she was on the West Wing and a whole new generation only knew her as Abby Bartlett (the Presidentβs wife). But if you want to see her in another film, check out Six Degrees of Separation. Sheβs fabulous!
Fun fact, Jeff Conaway (Kenickie) played Danny Zuko on Broadway. But when they made the movie, they gave John Travolta the part because he was such a big movie star.

Hope you introduce Ouynh to the movie Dirty Dancing. That'll also make her want to get into dancing π
