My key words for these performances are Beautiful, dreamy, mesmerising… from the vocals, to the visuals, to the atmosphere, to the details etc. Npop is actually a new monthly music chart from Naver and recently launched… Tae and his performances were in all the launching publicity of the show etc, same as he was in the launching publicity of Tiny desk Korea… it’s very innovative that the shows - bar Inkigayo - that he is performing on, are brand new, with no established audience… In terms of Tae and the red mic colour etc it all has to do with Korean fortunetelling and culture. Firstly in Korea 3 personal colours are associated with Tae: Purple, Green and Blue. Which is why his album comes in those three colours. Purple is a given as the creator of Borahae and the one who gave purple significance, and it being the fandom colour and BTS’s colour. Green obviously because of how long he had his green mic (it was his official colour in content etc too like for Google, cookie kingdom etc) The blue is because in Saju fortune-telling (more on that in just a bit) he predominantly has a lot of water characters in his fortune. Brief overview of Saju - it’s a big part of korean culture for many but not a concept familiar to the west… china and Japan have their own twist of it too… In Korea it’s very popular for people to go to a fortunetellers and get your fortune told each year, or to go to a fortune tellers for the timing of important decisions, like studying, marriage, compatibility, moving jobs, houses, before a big events etc. It’s such an ingrained part of Korean culture and so many tv programmes dedicated to it so it’s fascinating. Parents even use it when they determine their children’s names, or couples will change the dates of weddings because of it, or people will choose different dates for their big undertakings etc. There are Saju cafes too. Saju fortune means four pillars and basically uses your date and time of birth, your name etc and Chinese astrological charts etc to analyse your cosmic energy. It’s kinda like statistics based on planetary charts when you were born. Everyone is basically a combination of Wood, Water, Metal, Earth and Fire characters, With Yin or Yang energy. With some characteristics being more than others, and most lacking a combination of some to some degrees. Your fortune is believed to be fixed but you can do things to influence it. Some people go as far as even changing names etc after a reading. I don’t know if you remember the MBTI episode but Tae talked about it there too, and Tae mentioned it in a live. According to Saju fortune Tae has a lot of water characters in his fortune but lacks fire.) so blue is from the fact that he predominantly has water in his fortune. Because he lacks fire characters and needs it in his fortune, his lucky colour is red. Which is why over the years he’s worn a lot of red for important events (including the red jacket they sent him to seoul with, his celine red jacket etc) and why for many years he used to wear red bracelets etc and red string and why red is his mic colour now. Also he explained in his proof collectors edition interview that he viewed red as the colour of passion and that it was his favourite colour ( his fav colour has changed over the years depending on time frame with purple, green, red and grey, brown all being chosen at some point) as you pointed out he used Red in the graphics for the V in the end of Love Me Again MV too… and he purple in rainy days and slow dancing and blue graphics obviously in blue. It will be interesting to see what the colours in other MV’s are. Personally I would love for Tae to one time sit down and explain all the details behind his choices. 2023-09-10 03:33:11 +0000 UTCThe stages were so artistic and beautiful! The warm colours for love me again were extremely pretty along with tae's outfit and gorgeous hair. The ripples of the water while they were all dancing was soothing. He looks amazing and his deep honey vocals have me tied up. 💗 I knew slow dancing was gonna be that one for me. 🤗 Every single time the chorus drops i get immediate chills. Same thing happens with christmas tree.. tae's voice has that power to evoke pure bliss and peace. He makes you feel safe and forget about your worries. BTS have literally outdone their studio versions of songs many many times, it's actually insane. I'm crossing my fingers for an official release of a live concert album. There are so many remixes that NEED to see the light of day.
