March Bases: Rocky Outcrops - WIP
Added 2025-02-13 23:00:04 +0000 UTCWith the poll over and the month underway, work on the March Bases has begun!
Just blocking out the shapes, getting some interesting forms and FDM-friendly overhangs into the designs! I've been making sure to test the rocks with some various models to ensure that there is actually enough room for a model to stand - one of my biggest pet peeves with many bases is that there is no room for a mini!
Next step will be to turn these blocky shapes into some nice natural stones then carve some cracks and crevasses into them and add some more detail around the base.

2025-02-14 09:56:08 +0000 UTCIf you want to standardize, I'd say 5x2mm should be good, and for bigger bases include 2 or 3 slots for the same

2025-02-14 09:55:48 +0000 UTCI think it can be different on the base size: for smaller mini's (25-40mm bases) I usually go with a 5x2mm magnets while for bigger bases I use 8x2mm magnets.
