Production update 2021-11-16

Hello,

I'm sorry I don't have better news. The past 3 weeks have just been straight up bad for both my girlfriend and me. We were both hit hard by the flu, one after the other, we fell behind on all sorts of responsibilities, and many things around the apartment broke down (heating, toilet, multiple lights burned out in quick succession). It seems every minor inconvenience and dumb issue decided to show up all at once. Here's a prime example: I cut myself on the tip of a finger yesterday morning and now I can't use it to type. It's not the end of the world, of course, but it's just annoying enough. We've honestly felt overwhelmed just by everyday life recently, to the point where just doing the dishes is a success. My sleep schedule has also been all over the place. My energy for work is really low and progress is still at a snail pace.

When I do have the time, I've been spending my time working on Donkey Kong 64 romhacking stuff and feeling bad about not working on the script for Part 4. I would love to feel that fire under my ass and be really efficient like last month, but it's just not there right now. I wish I had something better to tell you guys.

The script is roughly around 20% done, but I think I also have to go back and tweak what I've already written. The first section is also the hardest to get right, so hopefully, once I get past it, the rest should come easy. As for a release schedule, I really want to get it out before the holidays, so I'm aiming for December 18th. I can definitely still meet that deadline if I get going enough that I can start editing in the next 10 days or so.
