How was it?

I know there's a lot I didn't cover... but even with a 1 hour long video essay you can't go over all of the diverse experience people have with gender. It's a little scary putting out a product you know is inherently flawed but I guess all art and creations have flaws that make them unique...
When writing the script, I mostly had an already progressive feminist audience in mind, though I did expect the title to get some more "average" male viewers' attention... and it did. It's interesting to see their takeaways in the comments, and I'm glad I could connect w/ them too despite them not being my core audience.
I know I didn't handle the subject perfectly, but I don't think anyone could... there's always going to be missing voices and generalizations that don't quite fit. But perhaps someone else can take on those gaps and complexify the conversation. I at least know that I made something I felt was personally honest and true... and that's all I can ever really hope for...

I absolutely loved the video. I watched it with my partner who is trans/detransitioned who I think it was very cathartic to watch for and also sent it to my brother who I think is unknowingly trying to process a lot of gender trauma. No one can be perfect but wanted to let you know I appreciated it

2023-10-23 18:29:26 +0000 UTCI personally loved it so much I've been going through a gender questioning journey, im afab, and also im engaged to a cis man because of the video i was lead to think a lot about his personal struggles and things that came up in conversation in the past about emotion and this loneliness as im beginning to navigate my feelings towards my own gender (for a couple of years) i recognized this pull from the patriarchal view on how a masc identity should be, definetely didnt get all the way into the hole but i guess you saved a lot of regret with this reflective light on the subject, looking foward for more content on gender <3
