Wolfenstein: Youngblood - Fortwährende Dienstleistung (Jimpressions)

Well I felt exactly like you, previous games weren't so microtransaction focused nor sponge festy and both MachineGames and Arkane had a pretty good track record. I felt for the preorder because i got exited to Wolf 2 in coop, serves me well... So as people say fool me once, Bethesda Softworks is now on my distrust list and they were the last ones with CD Project. Their loss.

Until they truly drive away sales,(or suffer legal action) publishers will refuse to listen to reason. It's like they want a second industry collapse.

For the most part, they're killing nazi zombie robots, not people. For the rest... people are still people, even if their day job is shooting people. I'm not sure how they could still be realistic characters if they never expressed anything but dour.

I think portrayal of people who aren't sociopaths giggling and dancing and acting like little girls in-between killing people is unsettling and not the greatest thing at all. It's a video game and it's not real, sure, but I questioned how good these characters are after your comments about how much you loved them in the context of this game.

Im playing rhe old blood in protest haha and its quite good but not as good as wolf2 and ive yet to try the new colossus. Will be giving young blood a hard pass for now as those transactions will likely get worse.

Small time companies (globally) force gambling into games and make billions and no one does anything about it. Young teenagers in esport play their games and win millions...in a game for killing and gambling. Then with those billions the game companies start acting like Gestapo to ensure those billions for share holders keep coming in. And they do this by hiring thugs to intimidate fans to watch what they say online and combined with legal action they leave fans with few choices but to toe the corporate line. So if you're a kid who loves fortnite then you get a million but if you are a fan who runs a fan page and says it bad you get thugs making thinly veiled threats in your actual home!? WTF is this where the unchecked greed and absolute monopolies has lead us ? Very worried about this and if it turns out to be EA or Activation Blizzard or bloody Bethesda I will not be surprised. hope it is all a hoax but I fear it might be a new low.

I would love to argue with you because I love Wolfenstein but, this is something I wasn't expecting in a recent Wolfenstein game and I understand that it may not be considered a main line series title but, still... 😔

Between this and the bullshit they pulled with the Doom ports having DRM, I'm very worried about Doom Eternal now.

The protagonists being so likable almost makes me want to try this game, as grating characters was one of my big problems with the other games. But I'm concerned that instead of characters and writing trying my patience, it will be the gameplay.

It's a shame too because I love what MachineGames has done with Wolfenstein; but Bethesda had to go and make them put in these shitty microtransactions. Bleh.

It's already a $30-40 budget title, nobody would have minded if it was finite! Just sell me a complete fucking game that I can finish and move on to the next one.
