The "Jim Sterling method" is the best method to handle Patreon. It's like 75% of the reason I support anyone on Patreon. I understand why people gate off stuff and it's not *wrong* per se. But I am more keen to part with a little of my money if I know a creator/artist is generous with their content. Some people don't have even a dollar to spare - I've been there myself. And people without much spare money really appreciate the free entertainment, or journalism, or art, or what-have-you.
