The Spin-Off Doctors: Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World

There was a very brief period of "nerds are cool now" in the late 2000s and early 2010s. We all got over it pretty quickly, but boy did it make for some poorly dated films.

Anyway, here's a movie about a bad human being getting everything he wants.

I did love Scott Pilgrim but I've been aware for a while now that that was my younger, less mature self. Also, I love(d) Kick-Ass way more, even back then, so I'm sure you're pretty much spot on with this. The best part of this movie was when rather early on the Legend of Zelda mystery sound went off at just the right time in the background. Somehow that's one of the things that stuck with me most.

Oh no, I remember loving this when my gf, my sisters, and I watched it when we were in college. Now I'm terrified to go back and watch it again.

Honestly on the micro bandwagon of skipping, because it seems like you guys honestly "didn't get it". MovieBob was once of this movie biggest champions for it and had a lot better breakdowns and takes.

I agree with most all of your criticisms. I still like the movie. I decide to see the character as *deliberately* an unrepentant asshole. The "LOL it's gay so it's funny" stuff is still incredibly cringey, I agree.

I'm not sure about this movie, I used to love this movie a lot back when I was 21-22 when the movie came out. I haven't watched it since then, being 28 now I actually kinda struggled to go through it. I'm sure that it's partially maturing with responsibilities and relationships so I just can't sympathize with anyone except for Kim or Julie, and it just reminds me of my early twenties work colleagues. It's an important and formative movie, though it doesn't hold up for me personally.

Just chalk it up as a "different generation" thing.

I tend to scoff at and blow off elitists who say “you just don’t get” a movie/game/etc, but the blatant misreads and confusion regarding the movie’s humor and story elements in this discussion/analysis only leads me to believe that you guys actually DID NOT PERCIEVE most of the movie’s content the way its intended audience did. It’s possible that it was just a simple difference in taste, but it kinda sucked to hear you guys dump on my favorite movie (:c)

Fantastic movie. One of Edgar Wright's best.

Kennedy Renn

Great movie, even better comic book series

I liked this movie at the time. I feel like this movie does not hold up at all.

Joshua Chap

FYI I can't stand Michael Cera... ruins the entire movie

4 minutes in and this will be the first episode I skip. Sorry.

love the movie, wish the game wasn't stuck in copyright hell I had a hell of a time playing it over my 360 with my mate online. I wish there were more games like those... or even that the game became playable again.

Love this movie!)
