As advertising revenue dries up and there are more controversies about Google/YouTube ads appearing next to fake news, etc, we're going to see more and more news sites require these forms of revenue to just stay alive. At the same time, ad blockers will strip away the legit ads and require sites to embed sponsored content into their articles in more insidious ways. What I'm saying is, you haven't seen anything yet. :-)
