Tonight In Overwatch Loot Boxes

While I mostly wrote this for laughs, I think it highlights the genuine issue of how much total garbage is hiding in these fee-to-pay boxes.

I don't know if it's because I haven't played for long enough yet or what, but out of all the loot boxes I've opened I still haven't got *any* gold, literally zero. I totally agree that these things are bullshit, they need to have something guaranteed in them otherwise you're enjoying the game but every so often it sticks 2 fingers up at you just to remind you that Blizzard would like a few more quid if you wouldn't mind (not that you'll get anything out of it, you might but probably not).

I kind of grade the various drops: Sprays, profile images, and duplicates are F's. Voice clips and small coin piles get D's. Common skins, highlight intros, and medium coin piles get C's. Uncommon skins, victory poses, and large coin piles get B's. Then the rare and legendary skins get A's. Drop a grade if the item is for a character you never use, raise a grade if it's for someone you use all the time. Looking at it that way, you got... F, F, F, D in the header image loot box, which is definitely not a pass. F, F, F, F in the first box of your night, which literally can't get any worse. D, D, F, D for the next is little better really, and sadly maybe your best box of the four. Then F, D, D, F for the last. So some three or four hours of gameplay for 10 F grade drops, and 5 D grade ones. That's not only not a passable C average, it's not even a ~D~ average, instead achieving the D- honor of being one step above total failure. One step above total failure... If that doesn't perfectly encapsulate the pure excrement of those loot boxes, and possibly the vast problems with the loot box system in general, I don't know what would.
