I backed you because it was clear from the JQ episodes on The Escapist that you had some insight and passion about the topics that you cover and that it went beyond simply picking the low hanging fruit - you've covered a huge range of topics that I've found incredibly enjoyable and that I wouldn't necessarily have looked at otherwise. Crucially you've made content accessible to those who are outside of it in an informative and non-patronising manner. For example, the backstory on EA's closing of studios - I knew about Westwood since I grew up with C&C, so I knew a little, but not the whole picture. That's just one example from recently, but you've done it countless times, especially when it touches on game genres that I'm not familiar with. I know that if I sit down to watch a JQ video it's going to be high quality material. I subscribed to the escapist to get the videos in HQ, so I moved that sub over here to follow the content that I was actually paying for and have not regretted it - it's been an improvement in fact, since you've got written content out there, the podcast and the videos in an easily accessible place

Jimquisition was where I started with you but if someone says 'Jim Sterling' I would immediately think Podtoid/Dismal Jesters/Fistshark. The stuff you make makes me laugh even after repeated viewing and that is incredibly valuable. All the intelligent commentary on the games industry & other topics is just icing on the cake for me. If you wanted feedback on content I would say do more YouTube stuff where your just talking shite with people you like - anything that you would enjoy making is likely something your fans will enjoy watching. I just finished watching TB's crew play the Battlestar Galactica board game and I would LOVE to see you do something similar.

I'm backing you in spite of not even being much of a gamer because I find your commentary on the industry entertaining. Also your twisted sense of humour is something I can relate with. Can't say I care much about Podtoid, TDJ and even Fistshark because they were/are a bit over the top for my liking. But I have loved every episode of Jimquisition for many years and I'm also in love with Podquisition. My suggestion is to keep things different. I know that people scream at you whenever you *don't* slag off Ubisoft on Podq, but it gets old after a while. Consider the fact that no two episodes of Jimq are the same and that's the direction I feel you should be going.

I very much enjoy your perspective on the games industry in your Jimquisition videos. They're well-argued and I usually find them insightful (even when I occasionally don't 100% agree, which I often more or less do, but not always). I also enjoy the Podquisition podcast for basically the same reasons, despite the difference in format. Great to listen to while playing less intensive games, or doing chores at the house. If I had to break it down in arbitrary numbers, I'm backing you for the following reasons: 20% Jimquisition, 20% Podquisition, 10% mostly silly YouTube-videos, and 50% I want to pay you back just a little for the endless fun you, Conrad Zimmerman and Jonathan Holmes have provided me in Podtoid and Dismal Jesters. Oh man, I remember the day when I first heard "Edward James Almost" like it was yesterday. It was a little like losing my virginity. Almost. My girlfriend just saw me write this, but she already knew I had a disturbing love of those podcasts :)

I became a patron of your arts because I support folks taking to task those who need it. Jimquisition is fun and frequently informative and I quite liked Movie Defense Force and would love to see something like that occasionally once more. The Podquisition has been a new joy and is really shaping up nicely. All that said, I want to say I'm supremely appreciative of how diligent you are about creating content to justify folks backing your work. A consistent schedule of content (even when you're recovering from health issues!), the variety, and attention to quality has made this one of the most valuable Patreons I've put money toward.

I back you because I love Jimquisition and if it went away, I would be sad. What I like about Jimquisition is your honest, well thought out views which you back up with your reasoning, so even if someone disagrees, they at least see where you are coming from. Evolving my work is something I'm always concerned about. Jimquisition itself has subtly changed over the years, and especially now I've been expanding the scope of topics it covers. One great thing I've discovered since going indie is that JQ episodes on more niche topics now reach a wider audience than they ever would have on The Escapist, which has given me even more confidence to tackle new subjects with it. That episode on Bloodborne this week, for example, is an episode that likely would've been a wash before now, but it's doing great on my channel now. I'm really having fun seeing what new subjects we can explore.

Since this is the third time I've ever commented on any of your stuff (all in the last few days, I guess the seal is broken :P ), I should probably provide some background to how I consume the Sterling! I've been following your work since the tail end of dtoid, somewhere in your last year there, and became a fan Jimquisition instantly, catching up on all the ones I had missed. So Jimquisition was the initial main draw for me as a backer, but my weekly anticipation for Podquisition is now at least as high as Jimquisition, which is great! You, Laura, and Gavin make a great team, but maybe you could bring back the sex special? I miss hearing about Kosplay Keri ;) The types of games we get really passionate about don't have a ton of crossover, so when I read your reviews, the parts I'm interested in are the witty comments and general game design and industry discussion, I don't often use them as a buyer's guide (and that's not something unique to your reviews). Same thing when it comes to your regular youtube stuff, which isn't really part of the patreon but oh well. I occasionally watch your sqirts n' stuff, but not consistently (although I did a spit take at your intro to WOOLFE: THE RED HOOD DIARIES). Generally speaking, I'm most interested in your content that at least has audio (because it allows for multi-tasking, and we all want more of your voice!), and is either a more researched critique like Jimquisition, or more focused on discussion like Podquisition. I would love to have audio recordings available of your reviews, which might be a nice compromise between written and video reviews. Saturday Top 10's are also great, I was really happy to see its return (the top characters you would wank off is one of my favorite all time creations of yours!). I know that type of content takes much more time, but I would personally prefer fewer, more thought/planned out things, but that's just me. Really, if it's detailed critique about anything, ridiculous nonsense, or at best both, I'm quite happy :) The main reasons I have stuck around and backed your move to independence is because you obviously care about gamers and the gaming industry, have a good skeptic mind, and are hilarious in about everything you do!

I personally enjoy the strong personalities and the "don't hold anything back" kind of mentality. Very good stuff. I support you guys (in the small way I can) because I believe in paying for what I consume. It's only fair. Keep up the good work :)

I backed you because I love the content you produce and value your opinion on games. I think your reviews are incredibly solid and well thought out. You also seem like someone I could sit across from at a D&amp;D game and enjoy role-playing with. XD I love the podcast and all the shenanigans that occur on there. That's where I first "met" Laura and now we do a podcast together! So that's definitely a positive influence in my mind. Hell, every time I watch one of your videos where you talk about your RPG characters, the more I wish you just had a podcast swapping war stories from your games with someone. XD

Honestly, just consider what you're doing now and think of ways for it to evolve and grow. As much as I enjoy Yahtzee's persona, Zero Punctuation's format got stale a couple years ago. Keep your brand of humor, but always consider new directions to take it in.

50% of why I support you is for Jimquisition and Podquisition. But the other 50% is actually just because I really like you as a person. I appreciate your reviews and let's plays but i'm honestly much more interested in your own creative endeavors. Things like voice acting, joke poetry and singing silly songs for your friends. I realize you must feel a lot of pressure to write about as many games as possible, but I'm really hoping that you still find time to do these weird off shoot projects. Jim I really REALLY want to read that book your working on. I'm also sure you have a ton of ideas for original content like sketches, songs and animations. Why I have kept paying since your move to Patreon: 1) Great prose (full effect; spoken and written). 2) You are beholden to yourself and not those paying for you. 3) Personally, I think this is the future of how we pay for content 4) I'd rather support those who honestly try to evaluate my industry, not those who arbitrarily give scores so that their readership doesn't go down. I've been following you since your debut on Destructoid, and while you're not the same person, your values of honesty, truth, and comedy stuck. They're powerful tools for creating this kind of viewership.
