Invite to Submit Questions for May AMA Stream

Dear 15+ Patrons,

I'll be doing the May AMA stream tomorrow at 6pm ET. The stream will be archived here as always for those who miss it live.

Use the comments on this post to submit a question you want to ask me. IMPORTANT: since I can't put a character limit on your comment, I will only read four lines of text leading up to the question mark. If your question is longer than that I will only read those last four lines! This is to avoid multi-paragraph preambles that are awkward and time-consuming to read on stream.

Looking forward to chatting!

All my <333

Natalie

Hey girl, no question. Just a trans PSA. According to BlueCross BlueShield's policy bulletin on GRS & related services, wrt secondary sexual characteristics, BCBS may cover "cosmetic" stuff for those diagnosed with gender dysphoria. i.e.: facial surgeries, voice training, electrolysis, etc. They also may cover BA. Don't worry, a girl has receipts. 1.) Google: SUR717.001 or 2.) The URL below. It works, but will be automatically redirected the first time. Subsequent uses will connect directly. http://www.medicalpolicy.hcsc.net/medicalpolicy/activePolicyPage?lid=ju6tnvkw&corpEntCd=IL1 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Story version: Vyrthandi was talking with a new trans acquaintance who said this stuff was covered. Of course, she totally freaked because that sounded way too good to be true. So this girl was up until 4:00 AM that night reading State of Illinois statutes and insurance company policy bulletins for Aetna, Healthlink, and BCBS, since the open enrollment period for the university she works at is closing on June 1st.) (From prior research, most insurance companies, in compliance with the ACA, cover bottom surgery for all, and top surgery only for AFAB patients. But BCBS seems to handle all the "cosmetic" stuff, possibly with the exception of laser hair removal. So while this isn't simply cut and dry, and will come likely hinge on many fights over pre-authorizations, it's far better than spending 40-60k in out-of-pocket costs on transition-related surgeries. Hope everyone is well, and thanks for letting me share.)

Hey Nat, so, my bit from this month seems to have been deleted twice? So...
