The three demi-human waifus are gang leaders of their respective races, that where having semi-regular gang wars with each other, till Zenos came around. Becoming the target of their attraction. Which they then went into the biggest gang war in the town's arena. With Zenos and Lily being in the stands to watch. Resulting in the gangs pointlessly beating each other up, as they became aware that Zenos was willing to respect their desire to fight it out, but would continuously healing them from afar. Eventually ending with them becoming friendly with each other, knowing that Zenos would just heal them indiscriminately. Leaving the only avenue left to the girls, but to try and get closer to him out of romantic interest. These points might be taken in later episodes. But at that point it would be as something like a flashback, where the cast reminisce about the past. The anime has already deviated a fair amount from the original story, by jumping over a number of events that lead to Zenos becoming a black healer.
