At least that's the original story. Don't know if this is a hard, or soft reboot. Since Force Edge was one of the swords Dante inherited from Sparda, before daddy disappeared for the entire story. Sparda had disappeared for so long, that his betrayed lord sent his forces to kill the Sparda household. The broadsword that was talked about was likely Rebellion, the other sword that Dante had inherited from Sparda, and Dante's main weapon throughout all the games. Save for the two guns, Ebony and Ivory, that were made for him to use, and channel his demonic power through. Dante's older twin brother, Virgil, inherited the Yamata, a Japanese style sword, said and shown in media to slice through dimensions.

2025-04-05 01:37:38 +0000 UTCThe guys in the weird armor with multi-color pants and the halberds looked like the real-life Swiss Guard mercenaries who protect the Pope at the Vatican (and also the Vatican library, treasury, etc.). [When not wearing their ceremonial armor, the Pope's guards also have assault rifles, pistols, and regular combat uniforms, but they really do have the fancy gear also when on duty in public-facing areas.)
