Oh yeah and as for anodites. They don't have DNA because they are only made of energy, so Verdona altered her dna similar to a human to reproduce. So the spark isn't guaranteed.

"Magic" is essentially a practice of incantations or runes that lets people manipulate the mana around them. Anodites being made of mana explains why they're so powerful without incantations.
