Evil Lord Isekai Ep1

Comments

I on the other hand, as someone who originally read (and continues to read) this along with Let this Grieving Soul Retire and Eminence in Shadow web novels, I feel like only Eminence got a decent adaptation. These 3 are my top favorite misunderstanding series and this one feels like it got the least amount of care put into it. Grieving Soul was just okay as an adaptation and Shadow got the royal treatment. Even though they're all on similar levels of writing quality in my opinion. This is the one that should've had the most budget out of all of them considering the scale of the events and story. The visuals should've been mind blowing if done right. Also, I'm absolutely sick of adaptations showing the future and spoiling things for no reason other than to capture people's tiny attention spans. Tell the freaking story at the start. Just like the source. No need to shift things around. Even Eminence suffered from this a little bit in the second episode. It definitely confused people. Though my bigger issue was that it should've explained things better early on. Lingered on his childhood more so people understand where his abilities come from. Anyway... Intergalactic Empire is being adapted as a trashy seasonal anime when it deserved so much more.

After a solid first impression from the two episodes plus some promising minor spoilers learned though online discussion, this is one of the few times I've been convinced to pick up a LN series when its anime just started. Many are saying it's a good deal better than Mobseka by the same author.

Eminence in Shadow also gave a full-episode back story before we got into the action, and so did the Worlds Finest Assassin. (Mushoko Tensei also had a fair bit of back story). Some of the better Isekai seem to do this...

After watching the first episode, I think I can now understand better why they decided to release the first two episodes at the same time. Some people might not like the amount of backstory and lack of "isekai" in the first episode. To counter that, they released the second episode at the same time.
