ERIKA in WHITE

Less is always more. That’s how I was raised. But over time I’ve learned that this adage isn’t always the case; sometimes MORE is more. And extra dollop of whipped cream, an overly tight hug from someone you love, a longer, hotter shower than you expected, they all add up to a better experience, a more enjoyable life.

And this is the same with Erika. Though she is as sweet, caring, fun, and adorable as she appears on the surface, spending any amount of time with her reveals her to be capable of much, much more. Her humor is goofy and engulfing, you can’t help but laugh and smile in her presence. Her beauty is true and genuine and rich, the kind you might not fully appreciate until you spend time watch her subtle gestures, her elegant grace. Her charm is irresistible, and if you are lucky enough to briefly share in her awkward joy of life, you are far luckier than most people on the planet.

This series is simple, lovely, and some might say boring. But if you spend time with the images, explore the out takes and study the nuances of her various expressions, you’ll see that it’s much, much more. This is documentation of two friends talking, laughing, being at ease with each other during an otherwise mundane photo shoot. And in between the lines, you’ll find a moment that was truly memorable, truly special.
