ERIKA IN RED
When I was in high school I had a crush on a close female friend of mine, and I asked her out to the senior prom. Unfortunately she had already accepted an invitation from another mutual friend of ours, and since I was full of hormones, I was devastated. I ended up going with a girl who howled out the window and was sneaking drugs the whole time, so needless to say the night didn’t go well for me. But I remember at some point sitting at our table alone looking on the dance floor as my crush, who was wearing a tight-fitting red dress, and her date danced to the song “Lady in Red.” That was one of the lowest points in my teenage life, and from time to time when I hear that song I’ll still feel wistful and lonely all these years later.
So whenever a model wears red, it’s a struggle for me. Red is one of my favorite colors, I love it graphically, and I think it’s a primal color that most humans feel drawn to. Yet a beautiful young woman in red will always feel me with a twinge of regret and sadness, and thus is the struggle.
I love Erika like a sister. She’s sweet and fun and beautiful and easy-going. She’s also complicated and strong and will call you on your nonsense if she thinks you need it or if she thinks you will listen. We don’t shoot as much as we used to, but thankfully I still have several unshared sets I can put here on Patreon for you all. Enjoy yet another beautiful series of my friend Erika, and I hope your painful memories from high school don’t back up on you the way mine do.
