ISOLATED
Lately I’ve felt pretty isolated. I’m productive as always, yet I’m stuck in the endless loop of working my almost solitary day job in an office, then coming home to quiet home alone and editing photos until bedtime. I like my photography and editing is an unfortunate by-product of having photo shoots, but lately this tedium has gone from bad to worse. I need a break.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. But a little venting now and again is good for the soul, or so I’ve heard. When I worked with Shelby in LA a couple of weeks ago my mind was already in this mode, so when we shot my ideas were about blocking her off, framing her up with the lines and geometry of her apartment using angles and mirrors and reflections to make her isolated frame look continually fractured and confined.
I’m not sure if this idea comes through in the work, but that’s how I view it, at least. What do you think?
